The Canon Ixus 860 Is Is The Best Point-and-shoot
The Canon IXUS 860 IS is the best point-and-shoot camera I've had (and I've been through a few!). Wasn't convinced in the shop (looks a bit chunky) but having stopped off at the beach on the way home, I switched it on and promptly fell in love. The screen is razor sharp with image quality to match. The inclusion of a so-called widescreen lens adds dramatic flair to your pictures. That, plus a range of pre-set image modes makes it a doddle to shoot different images in different situations. Plus there's always the Automatic setting for snapshop photography. I'd always been a fan of the Panasonic range previously - the FX33 was my previous camera. It did have a tendency to lose all detail in the sky though in many pictures - the light seemed to burn the colour out of the sensor. I have the Panasonic FZ18 as my main camera but for when I'm out with my mates the IXUS 860 has to be the one!
