Fuji Finepix Z10 Fd Review - I Contacted Fujifilm

Fuji FinePix Z10 FD review - I contacted Fujifilm concerning the color issue. I emailed Fuji copies of examples. The technician agreed that there was probably a problem with the CCD. I mailed the camera to them for repair only to get it back QCed, they said that there was nothing wrong with the camera. I climbed the corporate ladder, as my phone calls were never returned by a manager in NJ. I have now sent the camera back AGAIN only to be advised that this is the best this camera can do. I've owned other Fuji cameras before and now that typically the color is quality. Bottom line, if the camera works you will probably be happy, if it doesn't then don't waste your time with technical support, just go buy an olympus, which is what I've done.

It's compact and light and the bright outer casing is sleek and funky, usually prompting requests to 'have a look' from friends. Its turned on by sliding the outer cover on the front open to reveal the lens, which is located in the top right corner of the camera. Unfortunately it is squeezed right into that corner, and this results in one of my few criticisms of the camera. It's sometimes hard to take pictures without your finger slipping over the lens, and bear in mind this is coming from someone with tiny hands! A further point is that the lens cover isn't particularly stiff so can slide across as the camera is jolted about in a bag, for example. The camera is great for impromptu snapshots as it is really simple to use. Slide the cover over and point and click away. The large LCD screen on the back has a very good resolution and its picture does not blur as you move the camera around. For those who like to take a little more care over the colours and sharpness of their pictures, the camera has a range of shooting modes accessible from it's menu (which, like taking pictures, are also simple to use as the camera only has 2 buttons which can be used for all navigation), which alter the brightness/colour/shutter speed according to your surroundings. The modes are named by reference to where you might be using the camera or what you might be taking a picture of (Natural Light, Natural Light & with Flash, Portrait, Landscape, Sport, Night, Auction, Sunset, Snow, Beach, Underwater, Museum, Party, Flower Close-Up, Text) - so even non-technical people like me can make the most out of it. The camera also has features including red eye reduction, face finder (which ensures that where you are taking photographs of people, the focus is on their faces), macro mode and several settings for the flash. I have found that the battery lasts me roughly 2 days where i'm getting the camera out and using it frequently, and closer to 4-5 days where I am not using it as frequently. Overall I am really pleased with this camera. I have read some reviews which criticise the quality of the pictures it produces but I have no complaints about this. I have taken photographs of some landscapes and sunsets while on holiday that have come out in beautiful rich colours when i have loaded them on to my PC. It's not one for serious photographers, but for a relatively cheap (mine cost just over £100) easy to use camera it really does the job.
