My Fuji Finepix 2400z Digital Camera Was Five Year
My Fuji Finepix 2400z digital camera was five years old and had a couple of minor faults that were annoying me. It was also feeling a bit heavy compared with what is available now. So I spent ages investigating what I could buy to replace it. The picture quality of the Finepix was superb, so I was looking for a really smart snapper. I think I found it and at a bargain price too.
I bought the Olympus C-460 zoom digital camera from Luton Cameras through eBay for £70 delivered. It was a refurbished model, but it seemed new when I opened the box. I bought rechargeable batteries when Lidl had them on offer, and battery life is now good. I also bought a couple of 128Mb memory cards and a card reader to save me carrying the cable. The capacity with the bigger cards is excellent.
You flip open the cover of the camera and point and shoot. It is very simple to use, and the quality of pictures is great. I had it on holiday skiing in Utah, and it fitted in my pocket a treat, and was ready in moments to take great pictures. Using Irfanview you can batch re-size the pictures to email them to friends and family, and they give superb prints.
I am not keen on the screens on digital cameras; I find a viewfinder much easier to use, but a lot of the newest cameras don't have one. The C460 seems to be one of the last budget Olympus models to have one, so it is worth looking for if the viewfinder is important to you.
All in all this is a really good replacement for my Fuji. It is small, light, easy to use and the picture quality is superb.

I Have Owned The Olympus Camedia C-460 Zoom Digita
I have owned the Olympus Camedia C-460 Zoom digital camera for some 10 months now, and I am over the moon with it! Typically it has the renowned picture quality that is associated with Olympus.
Before buying this camera I studied and researched all compact digital cameras available. Originally I wanted the Olympus C750 zoom which was superseded by the C765 and C770 zoom, as I wanted 10 times magnification, whilst every thing ~ the price and all it's features were what I was looking for, the only thing lacking was an image stabiliser, which at that mag' is a must without a tripod, so I decided to wait until that feature was perfected. This is how I ended up with the C-460 ~ a compromise, and boy am I pleased with the choice, even when I do upgrade to, probably by the time I am ready, a digital SLR, I would NEVER part with this little Wizard.
After all the research I have done in relation to digital cameras, I now give advice to numerous folk looking for their first purchase, or even upgrades.
The one thing I would recommend would be the purchase of decent re-chargeable batteries, and always make sure you have 2 spare sets. Also make sure you have an adequate memory card of at least 128MB, preferably 256MB. The only reason I gave an 8 rating for the batteries was down to the fact I bought mid-range batteries, and it is in no way a fault with the camera.

Don't Take This Review For The Olympus C-460 Too S
Don't take this review for the Olympus C-460 too seriously because this is the first camera I have ever brought. I got my digital camera a while ago and I think it was probably one of the best ones I could have got. I searched around a lot but in the end this one came out the winner. I got it for around au$400.
It dosnt have all the modes like other cameras and the shutter is a bit slow but it is perfect for anyone who wont be taking any fast moving photographs. The movie mode is a very good feature and another reason why I got this camera. The movie mode easily makes up for the slow shutter for fast moving photos.
It is incredibly easy to use and I easily picked it up on how to use it.
Because the screen is so big it does use a fair amount of power so I would suggest getting rechargable batteries
The things you get in the box as well as the camera are: usb cable, tv cable, 16 mb card {i suggest getting larger one}, a handy carry case and manual

This Is The Olympus C-460 Zoom. I'm Not So Sure O
This is the Olympus C-460 Zoom. I'm not so sure of the sliding covers, I'm more of the on-off button user, and the sliding cover is very prone to damage. The quality of shots is impeccable, the menu interface is quite user-friendly, great battery life.

The Olympus Camedia C-460 Zoom Del Sol To Give It
The Olympus Camedia C-460 Zoom del Sol to give it it's full name is a nice little camera not to be dismissed when considering upgrading from an older model. I really love the way the outer case slides open and closed then you zoom beyond the casing with the extended lens. I know I'm sad but it really is quite impressive. If you buy an Olympus you know what you're getting and this camera is no exception, quality.
