Well, Though The Battery Life Isn't So Good, It Is
Well, though the battery life isn't so good, it isn't really a problem for me. I recommend UniRoss AA Ni-Mh 1300 mAh Rechargeable Batteries - 4-Pack for the best battery life. I went on holiday for a week recently and only had to charge up once. You'll get a good couple of days of solid use out of these. Picture quality for this camera is amazing but the settings have to be right otherwise you'll experience quite a bit of motion blur. It is also very good for close-up shots. For night mode, I recommend using a tripod otherwise you will experience a lot of motion blur. It's a fairly sturdy camera and it's been to many places with me. I even used night mode's lengthy exposure time to write pictures into my photographs with a laser pointer. I couldn't be happier with this product but it does require special care for the best performance.

I agree its a nice little camera with some nice features.
However the battery issues are rediculous, you cant use Rechargeables since they will run flat in seconds! Your left using disposables (Duracells i used) which will last the duration of about 50-100shots.
I have only had this camera for 18 months and it has already developed an issue of powering down when try to take a shot at random times so therefore its no longer fit for its intended purpose.
Have now bought a Fuji JX530 to replace this for £100 a well known retailer and so far its better on so many levels.

Love This Samsung Digimax Camera, Great Image Qual
Love this Samsung Digimax camera, great image quality, good features. Goes up to iso1000 which is great for low light or art grainy shots. Battery life isn't an issue with rechargeables. Went travelling round Morocco with this camera, took 1000 shots in a variety of environments, light settings etc, did the job beautifully with no problems. Video is great too, high quality, high capacity. I love this camera.
Useless , Not Fit For Purpose If You Have To Chang
Useless , not fit for purpose if you have to change the batteries every few shots. It can take one clear picture before the battery goes flat.
Definately Recommend The Samsung Digimax D103 Came
Definately recommend the Samsung Digimax D103 camera . If I lost it tomorrow I would be searching for another to buy that day. Handy size ,fits pocket . This is the first digi camera I have had ,prior to this I always had 35mm thru the lens cameras. I am impressed with this unit .Wish I had had one years ago.Never taken a bad photo with it.

The Samsung Digimax D103 Ia A Fantastic Little Cam
The Samsung Digimax D103 ia a fantastic little camera. Had it since June 07 now and it has never failed me. It's hard-wearing too. I take it everywhere and it's always getting scraped and knocked about but it still works perfectly. It takes brilliant shots as well and has a great range of features. It's also very easy to use and is nice and compact. The only thing wrong is the battery life, but it's never great on digital cameras anyway. And it's not the worst I've ever come across. I just think you'll be better off with re-chargeable batteries ;)

I like this camera... I don't think there's another camera that has good quality for close up shots with same value for money. Sample can be seen in www.redbubble.com/people/eka4fun/art/163665-1-wet-n-fresh

I completely disagree with Vendula's comments. I have had no problems in playing back my .avi video clips on my PC!
Also I use rechargeable batteries and have found that typically they last for at least 2 days while on holiday taking a mixture of up to 50 photos and 10 video clips!
All in all the Digimax D103 is a very good value for money camera at an affordable price.

The Videos You Take With The Samsung Digimax D103
The videos you take with the Samsung Digimax D103 digital camera are saved in .avi format, and when you save it to a PC, you will not be able to view it in the usual packages, such as Windows Media Player, Real Player or Quick Time Player. In fact, I have no clue which program you CAN view it in!
The far worse drawback is how it sucks battery power. If you go on holiday and plan to take quite a few pictures, you must take loads of spare batteries with you. I went on holiday; the camera had brand new batteries in, but in a less than an hour they were completely flat. It was in a rural place and there were no shops. I knew I was not going back there and there were so many things I wanted to take pictures of, so it was quite upsetting. Since then I carry at least 3 extra packs of batteries when I go somewhere important. I started monitoring the situation too, and I figured out that each time I manage to take about 45 shots before the batteries die. This is if you just switch the camera on for each shot and quickly switch it off after you take one. Otherwise, the lifetime is even worse. I went back to the shop where I bought it and they said that that is just the way the camera is. I searched for some reviews and realized that everyone is having the same problem, so it is not just my camera; it's basically this model. Unfortunately, when I was buying this camera it was still new to the market and there were no reviews available. If I could turn back time I would never have bought it. The batteries that I buy are the best available (or so I'm told) and the most expensive ones. I cannot even imagine how long normal alkaline batteries would last; about 10 shots probably.
If you are planning on using the Samsung Digimax D103 digital camera at home, it's probably OK, but you should buy a charger and rechargeable batteries. But if you are going to take it outdoors, you are facing a large bill for batteries, and it is a nuisance having have to change the batteries every 45 minutes, with the threat of disappointment when you run out of batteries and still want to take some pictures. I really cannot recommend this camera.
