I Bought This Acoustic Solutions 451 Dvd Player Fr

I bought this Acoustic Solutions 451 DVD player from Richer Sounds on their bargain clearout, for a fantastic £39.99. So far, I have been really impressed, and I have had no problems with the player at all. A bargain if you ask me!

I Bought Two Of These Acoustic Solutions 451 Dvd P

I bought two of these Acoustic Solutions 451 dvd palyers then read the review page - oops. All I can say is that my two work perfectly, the remote has features that my Panasonic and Philips players don't, they play any type of DVD disk ( DVD-R,+R, DVDRW etc etc and not skipped a beat even on a backed up Red Hot Chilli Peppers concert. I paid £49.99 from Richer - I wanted to spend less but the cheaper ones don't play DVD-+R. Excellent Value.

Bought My Acoustic Solutions 451 From Richer Sound

Bought my Acoustic Solutions 451 from Richer Sounds after taking their advice on the best player for around £80. They highly recommended this one, giving it glowing praise.

My player intermittently freezes and jumps scenes when playing DVD's, or occassionally just crashes completely and returns to the start.

Richer Sounds highly recommended it for its MP3 playback, but I find it badly distorts the treble range when playing CD's back through my HiFi - OK they're opera CD's, but sopranos aren't meant to yodel!

Bought The Acoustic Solutions 451 From Richer Soun

Bought the Acoustic Solutions 451 from Richer sounds and seemed to play ok except for 3 or 4 10 second "freezes" while watching a film. You could rewind to before freeze and it would play past it. Took back to shop and swapped for new one, which did not work at all. Remote control had to be practically next to the unit to work. Now gone to cyberhome 505 and much better

Ive Had This Player Since Xmas But Only Recently H

Ive had this player since Xmas but only recently have I had the time to use the player and all its fuctions.

It plays all my music Cds through my Hi Fi and the sound is fine.

All of my DVDs including nonregion2 discs and a few dodgy copied DVDs from the sunday market!! play fine as well, the picture is great on my wee tv and when I had the opportunity to use it on my mum & dads Tv the picture was fantastic and the sound it kicked out was just as good Ive read from these reviews that there are a few probs with this player but as yet all fine with mine.

My Wife Bought Me This Unit For Xmas From A Short

My wife bought me this unit for Xmas from a short list which I gave her after reading reviews and comments by different people. As of yet I am unable to find a problem with this unit. My co worker bought one to use in his bedroom, he already has a £300.00 Sony which he says is not a patch on this cheap and cheerful product.

Only thing this unit lacks is to be able to play back Jpeg photographic files on my TV.

I Wouldn't Recommend Buying This Player. It's Got

I wouldn't recommend buying this player. It's got some nice features but has too many flaws while playing. I received it as a christmas present from my parents who were assured by richer sounds that these sold like hotcakes and they didn't have any come back. I have lost my faith in richer sounds for this reason. I haven't the heart to tell my parents its poor because it was so thoughtful of them to buy it. But would like to contact 'acoustic solutions' and give them a piece of my mind, can't seem to find their web address though.

I'd Like To Be Singing The Praise Of This Player-(

I'd LIKE to be singing the praise of this player-(after all, I bought the thing)-but unfortunately that won't be happening, and this won't be a good advert for the machine, nor any other MONSTER, Acoustic Solu...no...Acoustic Pollutions decide to cook up.. ok, so without further ado, here's my advice: DO NOT BUY THIS DVD PLAYER. IT IS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. I cannot stress enough how faulty the design of this RUBBISH is. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

to take the machine out of Black and white mode go into setup and change picture type to PAL not NTSC or Auto (Auto works fine for Region 2 but region 1 or SVCD will appear black and white)

I don't agree with this review. I bought a 451 in Aug 2002 has worked flawlessly since. The remote does have a narrow angle but this is fixed by using a one for all remote. These are a bargain.

I do not agree with this review. I bought the same machine just before Xmas fom Richer Sounds and I've no problems with it. The hacks from this site for the 421 model also worked fine.

Worked Well On One Tv (2 Scart Sony). Only Produce

Worked well on one TV (2 scart Sony). Only produced a black & white image on my other TV (1 scart Sony). Tried s-video + 2/scart lead and scart/scart lead, but it made no difference.

I did get a sheet off Richer Sounds about doing that.

1) Turn it on and open the drawer.

2) Press setup,next,prev,next,prev

3) Use the left & right arrows to change the region ver1=region 1, ver2=region2, ver255=multiregion.

4) Press setup to exit.

mlsw1.

Did you have to set up the multi region function or is it factory set? Richer sounds gave me a setup procedure which doesn't follow, just wondered if you've set yours up at all?

JohnL.

I managed to get around the problem. I connected the DVD phono video-out and two front audio out phonos using three phono cables to a scart/phono converter I had for my video camera. I set the output from the DVD to PAL, multi-region and two channel sound. It works great on discs from all regions. Better picture than the TV even using cheap and nasty 20 year old phono leads.
