The Apex Ad-703 Is An Excellent Dvd Player With To
The Apex AD-703 is an excellent DVD player with tons of options. One of a few players with built in decoders and therefore a treasure to match up with older stereo equipment. Vast selection of super slow motion and super fast motion. 3 disc changer. Big bang for the buck.
After Only A Few Months, This Player Starting Free
After only a few months, this player starting freezing up and breaking up the picture during a movie. It also shows a poor quality picture compared to the offbrand $58 DVD player I bought for my 7 year old! We have purchased a replacement of a different brand for the Apex player. What a waste!

It Is A Relatively Inexpensive Dvd Player And Has
It is a relatively inexpensive DVD player and has all the top notch qualities of an expensive player. Including multi-region compatibility. Only bad thing is that every once in a while the dvd player would freeze up. BUT...... this was only after 5 or 6 hours of continious play.
I agree with this review. Regarding comments of freeze up ... Apex provided a fix to this problem free of charge.

Although Not The Very Best This Apex Dvd Player Do
Although not the very best this Apex DVD player does what it says and for a great price. I have not had problems yet but I got a really good warranty and can easily replace the unit. The 3 disc changer is great for my purposes(SVCDs). I have conviced my brother, sisters, mom, and friends to get the same player.

What A Disappointment Of A Dvd Player. It Has All
What a disappointment of a DVD player. It has all the features I could want, but the picture and sound freeze briefly every few minutes or so. This machine absolutely refuses to play The Crying Game CD. I've heard that you can slip in a new DVD drive. I wonder if that would improve matters. There are days I would like to take the machine back to the shop where I purchased it and drop it in the middle of the sales floor.
I have exactly the same problem

After About 4 Months, The Player Would Stop Playin
After about 4 months, the player would stop playing a disc in the middle of a movie or a song after about 15 minutes. The only way to restart it was to turn it off and then power it back on again. Unfortunately, it is only about 15-20 minutes later when it hangs up again. Since the labor warranty runs out after 90 days, it is not worth trying to get fixed. It sounded like an ideal machine, but the quality and reliability is no good in my opinion. When I can afford it, I will buy another DVD player, but it certainly won't be an Apex.
I had this APEX AD-703 for more than 2 years now since it was first released. It had no problem as far as picture, sound, and performance is concerned. It's true that this is a cheap brand under $200 (I've bought it for $150 over the internet). Probably, the one you bought belongs to the defective stocks that the store gave you (you know, even in manufacturing there are defective products eventhough it was tested ok, some of the reasons that products tend to degrade is the shipping, temperature, and enviro conditions when the product reach the market). This APEX AD-703 is worth your money because of this powerful features (3-disc changer, dolby digital/dts processing, cheap price, 2-mic karaoke function, multi-regional capabilities, and most importantly it can even read the PIRATED dvd or vcd movies/karaokes that I doubt any dvd players can do at a price under $200 if not you will be forced to buy expensive brands like Pioneer that cost about $1000 which is also multi-regional and has the same capabilities) So just return back your defective APEX AD-703 and you can see that you'll be enjoying to the fullest your home theater entertainment experience.
Unless You Enjoy Purchasing New Dvd Players Three
Unless you enjoy purchasing new DVD players three times a year, I would not purchase the Apex AD-703 under any circumstance.

Well, I wouldn't have bought something that only had a 5 month warranty, unless it was incredibly cheap. Here in the UK all new goods get at least a 12 month warranty, and generally you can get satisfaction after the warranty period is up simply because it's unreasonable to expect electrical equipment to only last a year.
