Having Owned The Excellent Cyberhome 402 For A Whi

Having owned the excellent Cyberhome 402 for a while, I decided to pass it on to a newcomer to dvd, as it was a great machine, and Cyberhome have done it again with the 505.

I had to search the net hard to find a UK supplier, at last I did, 89.99 free delivery, and recived delivery 18 hours after i had ordered it.

As ever with Cyberhome, you get all the leads you need to get the machine up and running, I was also supplied the disc to make it multi reg.

The picture and sound quality is much improved over the excellent CH-402, and the new mp3 features and on screen displays are excellent.

I havent tried the on board decoder, I just hooked up my Acoustic Solution DS1033 system, lay back and enjoy.

All in all an excellent buy.

I've Owned This Cyberhome Ch-dvd 505 For About Two

I've owned this Cyberhome CH-DVD 505 for about two months and it continues to surprise me with it's high quality picture and sound. Nothing has gone wrong and it all feels and looks to be well put together. My only hesitation on buying it was the lack of playback for JPEGs, but this has now been addressed by the release of new firmware which I downloaded from the Cyberhome site and installed without a hitch. The only criticism I could make is that the buttons on the remote are a bit small and fiddly, but that really is nit-picking, especially given the bargain price.

After Searching The Net For "best Buy" Dvd Players

After searching the net for "best buy" DVD players, i decided to purchase the CH-DVD 505 from Cyberhome. Firstly for the built in decoder (wow great sound!), but then again i have a Dolby Surround tv, so the quality i suppose should be second to none. Why watch a picture at the cinemas? it definitely brings that "rumble in the stomach" to my living room! Ease of use- Great even if your not a wizz with any buttons, although if you have big fingers carefull where you press! I plugged in, switched on and was ready to go in minutes..no probs. The downside to this DVD player is having to change its region code-from 2 (which is how i received it) to "multi" (allowing the playback of all disc 1-6), but i fished around the net for the code, found it, but then got mind boggled about which manufacturers number the player was..(There were 2) so i decided to leave it at region 2. Think i will leave that to an expert!

Hi, I bought one of these players too, looks greats and doesn't disapoint on playback either. Multiregion code is Power on with no disc in, press menu then press 1 repeatedly until a diagnotics menu appears, you can change regions here. I got the code given to me by the lovely people at richer sounds in Belfast.

I bought a 505 as a result of the postings above. All of you are correct, this is some bit of kit. I Don't have a problem with the electrical connection as described, mine fits perfectly. The quality of pictures and sound from this machine are mind blowing! Highly recommended! Excellent price and service from second-spin.com

James.

My recently purchased 505 came with a seperate A4 sheet telling me how to set the regions, even though the instruction book doesn't mention it !! It's a great piece of kit though. One minus point, the power lead that came with it is a truely terrible fit.

Hi Jim, you can pick up the Cyberhome CH505 from second-spin.com for £99 quid at the mo, also includes free mainland shipping in the UK.

About dual laser technology:Full compatibility demands the accurate signal readout from all types of discs. Reading out different types of discs requires different wavelengths and a different focus. The individual lasers of the dual laser optical pickup mechanism are optimized for each wavelength and focus. This guarantees superb performance, no matter what type of disc is used. So as for the difference between the two, i couldn't really say, unless i had seen the 402,s picture quality in action. Therefore my opinion of the Cyberhome 505,s picture quality is faultless.

Jim.

Hello Kev,

I've been looking for a Cyberhome 505 for a while, but not many people seem to stock them so with £80 burning a hole in my pocket, I bought a 402. There's still time to swop it, so do you know if there's any appreciable picture quality difference between them? The 505 claims `duel lens technology' (whatever that is.......).

Thanks mate,

Jim.
