Panasonic DVD-S75

I tested this player with a Toshiba 42" rear projection screen with component video output from the DVD player to the screen. The quality of picture is outstanding (even though this may be helped by the "monster" brand component video cable costing £70.00). The player played all my DVD-R disks which on earlier DVD-R media had proved problematical on some players including a Pioneer DV515 which is able to play most DVD-R disks. The quality of the black output is simply black, not a hint of grey and the player can be setup through its menus to enhance the depth of picture by removing the background noise. I don't think that you could do better with a player costing twice as much, particulary the Windows Media file support, MP3 support and JPEG slideshow playback; making all your digital photographs accessable. I'm not biased but I have seen some very poor quality DVD players in this price bracket, you could do much worse-in fact if you don't buy this player you will do worse at this price point.....off to the shops quick!
