SVA D-2818

Well what can i say about this player but truly amazing and a snip at under 40 quid.£39.99 from Amazon with free delivery.

I did own a pacific dvd player but took that back. It didnt fit in the tv stand.

Then I bought the Slimline SVA D-2818.As soon as i got it out the box I thought what a nice looking bit of kit.It actually fits in the tv stand with my sky box an video player.

Ive tried it on various dvd's,mp3's,vcd's,svcd's etc.And im impressed. Multi-Regional, Nstc. It plays the lot. The picture and sound quality is excellent. You dont have to turn the sound up on your tv like some budget players.

Theres a built in 5.1 decoder with sound menus to keep the keenest audiophile happy. And two karaoke sockets with volume controls and echo function for the budding singers.

The buttons on the player are very responsive and feel quite sturdy. Press the open drawer button an it shoots out. Theres a nice lcd display which many budget players dont have.

The remote is nothing special to look at but has enough features on it to keep everyone happy including a volume control.

The only slight hitch theres no power on standby and sometimes its a bit noisy when a dvd is loading up but once it starts playing its fine.But even that is only on a few discs.

To sum up its a nice looking player with everything you want and a price tag that should be alot more. I dont know how the player will perform in a year or two but at this price its not my main concern.

If you want a cheap multi-regional dvd player the plays the lot with built in 5.1 decoder and karaoke and enough menu's to put the local takeaway out of business.
