Basically, You Get What You Pay For. The Drive Mec

Basically, you get what you pay for. The drive mechinism stopped working just as it went out of warranty and I had to pay a small fortune to get it fixed. Repairs are not under warranty!

Now, all subtitles have stopped working and as the machine warms up, there are a hell of a lot of unbearable pauses as it tries to decode the data.

Image quality is bearable, but can get very blocky and the way it renders mist is appalling!

Remote control is impossible to read in the semi light (grey text on black) and the machine itself is not the most elegant on the block.

Basically, a pile of poo. Avoid!

Bought A Yelo 800 Dvd Player From Amazon.co.uk And

Bought a Yelo 800 DVD player from Amazon.co.uk and felt compelled to voice my gratitude. I was always under the impression that you had to spend big bucks to get quality, but was proven wrong by this product. I was orginally looking for a region 2 machine as i only really watch british discs, however when i saw a multi-region machine for the same money i thought this was too good to be true. Excellent service from Amazon!! Nice one :)

Amazon As Usual, Delivered With Aplomb, Especially

Amazon as usual, delivered with aplomb, especially as it had enough air bags to stop a fleet of cars crashing.

The Hardest Part of the YELO DVD800 DVD Player is opening the box. After achieving that mean feat, it is plainly obvious you take it out plug it in, which is all we done.

The first thing you notice about it is that it's probably a bit bigger than other DVD players which you see in shops, not to me or my girlfriend. With many electronic gadgets which end up as small as possible, until you get to the stage where you end up with one of those paper games at school 'pick-a-colour-pick-a-number. More often than not, because they are smaller, they become more delicate. With the YELO I wasn't actually frightened to press a button, without the fear of breaking it.

Another gripe i have read other users write about is it is not a brand name. So what!!! brand names are there to make money. What the customer wants is for the machine to work and be easy to use. This is both, once i switched it on perfect, finding my way around the menu screen - easy!!!

Also the dvd die hards which examine how good picture and sound quality are, are doing it not for the enjoyment of watching a dvd but to pick holes, I thought both the picture and sound quality was excellent.

So if you are looking to buy a DVD player which plays both Region 1 and Region 2 dvds, and RCE dvds with a simple hack, then this is the one for you.

Agree with everything above.

The other reason I bought this particular dvd player was that it can disable macrovision and with 2 nursery aged children fully capable of destroying an entire dvd collection in minutes I have a strong need to backup my dvd's without having to shell out another £20 for each one. A few of these and this dvd player pays for itself.
