I Get The Impression That A Lot Of The Reviews Are

I get the impression that a lot of the reviews are written by people who don't own a Bose system. I do, and my view is that it does what it is supposed to do very well. It is simply a very, very good sound system.

It doesn't do HDMI (but it never said that it did) it isn't great at reading non-standard DVDs or non-standard CDs but that isn't really the point, is it? It's aimed at the mass market consumer who wants a quality product to produce beautiful sound from standard media and it does this very well.

If you want something to replay pirated DVDs and CDs then go elsewhere.

Like Any Successful Product Range, Bose Has Its Ha

Like any successful product range, Bose has its harsh critics but to be honest they are usually people that aspire to owning but just cant afford the products. My Lifestyle unit has served me well so far and paired up with a 40" Sony Bravia is a great combination. Digital sound of any sort can appear harsh and clinical but one should always be aware that any system can only reproduce what it is playing. Customer service with regular software updates have kept me happy and this product whilst expensive is a great all-rounder. If you want a system that will be all things then you could do a lot worse than Bose Lifestyle. I am happy and listen to a diverse types of music and watch a diverse range of film and TV through this system. Its fine....maybe not audiophile standard but creates a true representation of the media it is asked to play inc iPod.

Like Many Others I Find The 28 A Great System With

Like many others I find the 28 a great system with modern design and reasonable value for money, Is it worth 8 times as much as other units? yes if your wallet allows. I had the 321 and the dvd drive went 3 times so I upgraded to the 28 and within 1 ear the drive has gone again watch out reoccuring issue.

Overall I have 5 different BOSE products in my home and I would now have to think long and hard about having another DVD system because of the problems that I have encountered. I would buy instantly anything that is just music orientated.

Good Looks Come At The Cost Of Interconnecting An

Good looks come at the cost of interconnecting an external power supply and video enhancer making installation challenging. It also make the sleek looks shown in the ads almost impossible to achieve - where are all the cables and external boxes! The audio set up DVD is excruciating. The Bose marketing team seem to have forgotten about cognitive dissonance and continue to sell Sell SELL while all you want is the sound calibration. It has a Sharper Image feel to it, mutton dressed as lamb.It is way too expensive for the quality of image and sound. This is not aimed at people who are particularly interested in performance but in a simple decision for something that looks right and looks exclusive.

Sound is inch perfect from any source. Put Blu-Ray through it and you cant help but smile and feel very smug!! The only thing other than missing the Blu-Ray player is the shape of the dvd player, you cant stack it with other equipment.

Well, I Like The Sound Coming From The Bose Lifes

Well, I like the sound coming from the Bose Lifestyle 28 system. I believe the Adaptiq work fine.

However, Bose has not been able to fix (in couple of occasions) the reported Bad points above. So, they tell me that all my external digital sources (DVD, HD box) are the problem... go figure...

I would definitely buy a different system for media room.
