Acoustic Energy Aegis Evo 1

About three weeks ago i bought these little gems from Dutch Marketplace for only ' 50,00.

I didn't expect much from these (budget) ((AE)) loudspeakers, but when having connect them to my Harman Kardon Citation pre-17/power16a set-up i was totally flabbergasted when i heard the first notes of Enya's CD "The meories of trees". Unbelievable what a wide soundstage with a very, very smooth midrange, sparkling high section and a well controlled (although not earth shaking) tight bass. There is only one thing you have to count with. These speakers are extremely critically regarding placement. I placed them far from the corners and walls in my listeningroom and i was rewarded immediatly. Beautifull and surprising again and again. I have a few speakers with big names, but i keep using the little ((AE)) loudspeakers.

Would recommend the Acoustic Energy Aegis Evo 1 if you come by for less than £100 / 200$ the pair. Bought mine for £150 after seeing them on offer and having been awarded 5 WhatHIFI stars
