Bose Technical Support And Lifestyle 30

Over about 6 phone calls and having to go through the usual antics until I got to speak to someone on each call or getting cut off after listening to some appalingly recorded musak, I tried to give them details of my system. They wanted the serial number of the 'base unit',ie the big black box that sits on the floor; I found this out on the 6th call. I could give them the number of the 'head unit' only as I was not at home, if that's what it's called but that was not good enough apparently, although it is the head unit that has got a malfunction.

Their set up is truly a pain in the neck and has turned me against them and so onto another better system for much less money!

Bose: Average Speakers; Outrageous Prices

I've owned this set of speakers for a few years now, ever since I received them as a house warming gift. While they provide decent sound quality, they are far more expensive than they are worth. When you buy Bose products, you are paying for the name, not the sound. I've heard systems that cost half the price that sound the same if not better. If you are in the market for speakers, do yourself a favor and do some research, Bose are for the unknowing everyday consumer.

Looks Good, And Is Easy To Use. However It Sounds

Looks good, and is easy to use. However it sounds awful.

The speakers have a very poor range so all "top end" (cymbals etc will sound quiet and muffled, but even worse is the bass response. Rather than hearing individual bass notes the whole range is reduced to a rumble, theres a lot of noise, but no notes. It sounds rather like a hippo being constantly beaten with a velvet mallet. I checked with a percussionist friend who assures me that he or anyone he knows has ever used a hippo/mallet combination in their drum kit, and are unlikely to in the near future. This leads me to believe that this bloody racket must be genertaed by the bose acoustimess.

In short if you want to impress people who have no ears, then buy a bose

However if your friends have ears, they will hear just how bad your very expensive new toy is and laugh at you, and we dont want that now, do we ?

Bose Lifestyle 12 Review - Bose Blow! I Have Heard

Bose Lifestyle 12 Review - Bose blow! I have heard many acoustimass speakers and LifeStyle systems, had the demos and unfortunately in a previous job installed numerous Bose home cinema systems, even after advising customers against them! Some people will never learn!

Never had an installation without some sort of faulty kit, awkward to set the truly limited multi room side up. Plastic, gimmicky, over priced, over marketed junk! Shocking build quality and the DVD quality beggers belief!

Sound is terrible, boomy, false bass through the Acoustimass unit and overly bright treble from the plastic Jewel Cubes, and a big hole where the mid range should be.

It says it all when they market a really low dynamic range as a plus feature! That ' s the difference in volume in a movie between the quietest sound (wind in the background or talking) and the loudest sound (a big explosion). In real cinema and proper Dolby Digital the dynamic range is set to maximum to achieve a lifelike cinematic experience. How many times have you heard a building explode at the same volume that you talk??!! With the Bose you have no choice!

You can achieve much superior results with proper hi-fi at a fraction of the price! I ' m sorry but if you love Bose you are deaf, know no better or just plain dead inside!

Phew! I feel better now!

Difficult To Assess. It Was Struck By Lightning An

Difficult to assess. It was struck by lightning and failed after 1 week of ownership. Not Bose's fault. 13 weeks later they failed to pick it up from my local dealer so that explains my zero review. I have had zero satisfaction. JUST GOT IT BACK BUT IT DOES NOT WORK. I would love to say nice things about Bose, being a bit of an afficianado and a strong evangelist of the brand. I have owned many speaker systems from Bose, and bought the basic radio, alarm, CD player, and the next £800 DVD system which I am listening to now. I moved these systems around the house to put the new Lifestyle System in our media room and I have only listened via the new Samsung 46 LCD which is great value. I knew the Samsung had a weak sound system but I was not in the least concerned because Bose Lifestyle was to have filled this niche. Not to be, like our summer.

For The Hype That Follows The Bose Lifestyle 12 Ho

For the hype that follows the Bose Lifestyle 12 home theater system I expected a lot more for the money. The sound is very mediocre and hardly worth the price at all. Sure the speakers are small but for a little bit bigger in size I could have gotten sound that just blows these speakers away. DO NOT BUY THIS.
