Superb Budget Big Screen Tv
I bought this TV to replace an older 42" Panasonic Plasma.
I install TV's and I have to say I prefer the picture on a Plasma TV over LCD or LED. It does use more power though.
This LG gives a fabulous picture when set up properly. It's worth taking the time to set up a TV and not just leaving it on "Dynamic" or "Cinema"
It's a full HD screen and when connected to a Blu-Ray player the image is stunning. It also does a good job with standard def Freeview, not something you can say with all large screen TV's.
Sound quality is good but there's not much bass. However it would be a crime not to pair this TV with a surround system, particularly when watching movies.
The remote is good but the writing is printed on the buttons themselves, and this has started to wear off on a couple of them after less than 12 months.
Overall though, you will struggle to get a better picture for under £1,000
Resistors burn out? Did you get that from the internet? Not my experience, and I repair about ten flat screen TV sets every week.
I have had no real issues with the big LG Plasma TV's.
Absolute rubbish the tv goes after 14months can't switch on as the resistors burn out check the internet useless dont buy customer service denies everything!
Reliability of LG TV sets is similar in my opinion to other makes, I also repair TV sets and find that Samsung seem to be in the workshop quite a lot.
The problem with these new type TV sets is that when they do go wrong it's often necessary to replace complete boards, which makes it more expensive.
will be interesting to see if you have the same view in a year or two my lg has died, only 20 months old.
