I Have Owned This Tv For Over 5 Years Now And Paid

I have owned this tv for over 5 years now and paid £1700 new. I have never had a problem with it or a bulb go on me, it has been the best tv that I have owned, only getting rid of it to get a lcd led tv, otherwise i would keep it, remote is brilliant without batteries and the dual screen functions are brilliant, also the range of inputs available .

We Purchased An Lg Dlp Projection Tv Model Re44sz2

We purchased an LG DLP projection TV model re44SZ21RD in 2004. It went back three times in three months before we were happy with the third TV. Last year (2008) the lamp blew and it cost £300 to replace with no guarantee of how long it will last. It is now 1 year later switching it's self off after a while and before this happens the picture is distorted and turns greenish before it looses power. This can't be the bulb, surely it would just blow like last time. It also makes a tinkering noise. Took it to a repair centre and they don't know what is wrong with it. So now we are unsure what to do with it.

Lasted a year before it packed in! At over 2k, not good value for money! The bulb went and to replace, it costs nearly £300. Customer Service from LG bad, same as from Comet - niether will be getting my custom again!

I Have Owned A Lg Dlp Re44sz20r Projection Tv Sinc

I have owned a LG DLP RE44SZ20R Projection TV since they where first released and overall have been pleased with it. Item was a bit pricey when I first purchased it some 4/5 years ago ( £2200 at local retailers but they did do a price match to £1700 with one I found on the www, which included delivery and set up). Sound quality is average but when lamps are all working the picture quality is excellent. In the time I have owned the tv lamps have gone twice (and can be quite expensive) but with the extended cover taken with 'Domestic & General' the lamps have bee replaced with no hassle. The tv looks nice and settles into the room as a piece of furniture. The time has come to change though and I have just purchased a LG42" LCD tv for my home overseas and for my UK home a Sony Bravia 46 'X' series tv.

Would Not Recommend This Lg Re-44sz20rd Projection

Would not recommend this LG RE-44SZ20RD Projection TV to anyone after all the hassle we have had with it. We have had the tv about 3 years and the lamp blew after one year which we replaced costing £400.00. The same thing has just gone again and the engineer says LG no longer makes the part they need to mend it so have to scrap the TV! Not impressed after paying £1500 and knackered after only 3 years!

In Some Circumstances With The Lg Re-44sz20rd Such

In some circumstances with the LG RE-44SZ20RD such as Interviews with a dark suit and light back ground we get a Halo type effect round the border between the two, or on football games the players may have a fine lineround the outside of them against the pitch, LG have just taken it away to check it over, this is the second repair as the original one had a very poor image when it was unpacked.

While The Lg Re-44sz20rd Was Attractively Priced I

While the LG RE-44SZ20RD was attractively priced initially - too my cost have discovered that the lamp has only a limited life span and costs £450.00 to repair/replace. The LG authorised repair agent also required £372.48 just to collect and return the TV with no guarantee of repairability.

TV is great when working but is now proving to be a very expensive item. Consumers should be made aware of these hidden costs before buying. Needless to say LG completely uninterested!!!

Yes - all in accordance with Manual. New lamp fitted very expensively and now have problem that set will not always start up. Goes from stand by to flashing orange, fan starts up and then just goes back to stand by. Usually takes two or three goes to get it started but as of this evening can't get it to go at all. I am now looking for a new TV and will NEVER BUY ANOTHER LG PRODUCT - Not only because I'm completely fed up with this TV, but more importantly because there is effectively no proper after sales support.

Were you shuting the TV down as requested? i.e using the standby switch first, waiting for fan to stop and then switching off at the power button.

I Was Looking For A Plasma Tv But When I Came Acro

I was looking for a plasma TV but when I came across the LG RE-44SZ20RD I couldn't believe the quality for the price. I've now owned it for about a week and it is probably the best thing I have every bought. The picture in picture is brill, it's definitely saved some arguments in our house.

The only slight problem I have is that sometime when swapping the PIP from AV1 to TV, instead of getting TV it switches to AV1, which then means I'm getting AV1 in the big picture and small. But this is a minor problem and is not used very often.
