My Parents Bought One Of These Sony Kp-53hs10 Proj
my parents bought one of these Sony KP-53HS10 Projection TVs a long time ago and after a number of years the only problem is that it does not always kick on at first... you have to turn it off and on again to get picture. The remote also just died one day also ... although that could be because of family abuse... i always tossed it around... i just found it not working one day.
It can use 480p and 1080i screen resolutions... but i think you need some extra equipment for that..
Not a bad tv.

I Have Had My Sony Kp-53hs10 Tv Now For About 2 Ye
I have had my Sony KP-53HS10 TV now for about 2 years and I love it. I don't know what the other reviewer problems are but they surely are not related to the TV. I think this TV was a wise purchase and I would recommend it to anyone.
I've owned my sony KP-53HS10 for 5 years now, not a single problem with it yet. There's no need to buy extended warranty like i did. What a waste of money. This T.V is one solid item, well worth every penny I spent on it which was $3000 canadian back in 2001. Still going strong, don't know whats wrong with the other guys who complain about this T.V. Highly recommend this to anyone in the market for an older big screen.
I had mine for 2yrs and 2 months. And then out of the blue it went out. D board and K board. Total to repair------over 1100.00....not worth it to repair it. Bought a new one and paid for the extended warranty.

This is a "High Defintion(HD) set. Picture is absolutely perfect while on "Dish Network" satellite mode. The "Monster Power model HTS 700" cable/surge protector is in use with this set, VCR, and satellite receiver.
