Over Crowded Waterpark
My family spent a day with relatives in Bournemouth to celebrate my sons birthday, so we went to Splashdown. We arrived finding it difficult to park which was fine as it is situated at a recreational complex. We then queued to get in, for all seven of us we paid about £114. Once we had changed and put our stuff in the lockers we queued for about 30mins to get a ring then queued in a very overcrowded waterpark to go down one flume which again took us about 20-30 mins waiting for a few minute ride,to give our rings back to do it all again. Idealy they needed more rings as it was busy to keep the queues flowing, but to be honest there were queues every where for all flumes not just the ring ones. The waiting for one flume is ok as we have all learned to accept when places are busy but this was ridiculous as it ends up not enjoyable when it is very overcrowded. We complained to the manager who agreed with us and gave our money back, he also said that it was not at its full capacity and was still letting more people in. In my opinion they should not be allowing more people in to its full capacity, it should be stopped earlier to allow people to enjoy it in a nicer environment. They have got far to greedy!! This surely has to be a safety hazard allowing too many people in, if we all had to leave in an emergency we would not all get out safely and quickly. Plus for little ones all they can see are legs every where it must be so scary for the little ones. I must stress that we were not the only ones complaining, we could hear people all around us complaining. I would like to go back with the family, but I cant see when it would ever be quite. Admittedly we did go on a bank holiday weekend on a Sunday, but the weather was not good, so are we better off going when its nice or not!!!

Never Again
I visited this place last year 2013. I have made various comments about it on their facebook page and on Tripadvisor regarding various issues. I see on very recent reviews that the situation hasn't improved. Still far too overcrowded. The place is filthy, the changing rooms are dreadful the list is endless. My family wanted to go back this year to see if it had improved but we decided it hadn't. My advice is to STAY AWAY the place is an accident waiting to happen.

Only For Kids
Thought the entry fee was a bit high as we thought I it would be a good day out only stayed for about 2 hours, the rings on some on the rides are not big enough for adults so you fall out and can hurt yourself as we did, ideal for kids but not adults. Would only recommend if you have young children.

I Called Your Site Today To Ask About Taking Photo
I called your site today to ask about taking photographs and was told that it is not allowed in any way on your site.... i find this absolutly discusting because you are assuming that i am some sort of random abusive who is into chwrong doing.I AM NOT !!!! I SHOULD HAVE ALL AND EVERY RIGHT TO TAKE PICTURES OF MY OWN CHILD ANYWHERE I WANT but because there MAY be a suspect person enter the venue you declare that the inocent be declared guilty.... This is outragous . It is a very sad state of affairs that you do this and i will now not be visiting as my daughters birthday is coming up and it was going to be her birthday treat but obviously as you are unwilling to allow parents their rights and allow photos it will mean that i will have no photos to remember the day by and she will have forgotten by the time she reaches adulthood of the specail days out we shared as a family!
Also when i called i was told that you were advised this by the local police HOWEVER when i called them they were very shocked to hear this and knew nothing about it !!!!!
Also having looked at the officiaal site there is very little that my 4 10 and unders could go on and it does seem very highly priced for what they would be able to go on .... and why on earth charge to watch ..... just another way to make money as quick as possible ontop of the already high entrance fees !
All in all not impressed !!!
My children have been going here since they were babies and there is plenty to do- my seven year old went on all of the flumes and had a great time. Many places do not allow photography where there are children, particularly in swim wear. Sad state of affairs but not at all unusual as it is possible that other kids may end up in your photos as well as your own-other parents have the right to protect their children from being photographed. Suggest you actually try this place before you slate it as your kids will have a great time.
You are clearly an idiot.

Splashdown, Poole, this Should Be A Teenage Boys Id
Splashdown, Poole, this should be a Teenage boys ideal day out, although my 2 teenagers loved the rides to start with, they had soon had enough as the water temperature was very cold. My 5 year old didn't fair much better with the under 8's Buccaneer pool, this too was very cold and with a constant flow of cold water pooring in, was too cold even for me to get in. Even the Spa pool felt like they'd been melting ice cubes into it!
The flumes go both indoors and outdoors and some are both height and ability restricted, leaving only one ride for my 5 year old to go on. The queues weren't too bad although a little noisy. The variety of rides for those who can ride them are quite good though. However we wouldn't go again!
