Out In The Field With The Author
Really enjoyed the audio version of this book. Was able to identify ones I knew and learnt ones I thought I knew. Easy to listen to, great for Ipod and relaxing on a rainy day.

The Whole Thing Is Well Constructed And Helpful In
The whole thing is well constructed and helpful in the armchair or in the field. Sample's accent is gentle and non-irritating (to me at least!). The descriptions, defining of terms and general clarity is excellent on what can be a confusing topic. I have to admit to converting the files and using my mp3 player outdoors in the habitats specified - very helpful! Clear, enthusiastic and well thought out.

A Truly Evocative Recording Of The Many Birds Bot
A truly evocative recording of the many birds both common and rare that grace our woodland ,heath, moorland, inland and coastal waters. The clarity of the recordings are excellant and cleverly incorporate the muted, but nevertheless identifiable background songs and calls of other habitat sharing birds. Helpful and yet sparing commentary from a very knowledgable Geoff Sample, is both informative and timely. If one has any affinity with birds and a love of the outdoor habitats they share, then this double CD is a delight both to the ear and the mind. The wonderfully relaxing and soothing compilation of this recoring is an added bonus.
Primex - Additional comment to my previous review :
My score of only 1/10 was an error. My revised score would be 9/10.
If it's so good why give it one out of ten?
