I Bought One Of These In The Early 90s And Found T

i bought one of these in the early 90s and found the concept very good ,being able to play games , watch films and the educational software that was available made this machine was very versatile.i recently bought another cdi off ebay almost 20 years have passed since i 1st bought one and some of the games etc are still very very good.just shows this machine was ahead of its time. ive also managed to pick up some of my fav games such as burncycle ,flashback ,mad dog mcree which i managed to buy brand new at www.philipscdi.co.uk. i contacted them by email and they sorted out a great games package for me. so im very happy to reccomend this console to anyone worth buying just to play burncycle.

The Philips Cd-i Was Basically The Very First Dvd

The Philips CD-I was basically the very first DVD player as it came out in 1990 and it was a home media center with games on CD-i (compact disk-interactif) and it had Mr. Bean series on CD-i video whitch is basicly a dvd. Mr. Bean was not the only one, there was Tina Turner live and many many more...this is a great game console and if anyone knows where I can buy a new lead please write back to this but anyway this was a great games console I love it and now it is gathering dust because I can't get a lead for it.

What are you on about? The CD-i is NOT a DVD player - it was a poor attempt at trying to create a videogames standard - a games 'set-top-box.' And it failed. And thank heavens it did. The CD-i plays Video CDs that don't even have the quality of VHS, and the 'games' consist mostly of interactive movies. CD-i is a 'console' that deserves to be lost in the mists of time...if not thrown the bin.

If you're still interested, I have one to sell along with three discs. (Encyclopedia; Video Speedway & Earth Rhythms) I'll be posting it on E-bay if I don't hear from you. You can reach me at [email protected].
