Wow- In A Very Bad Way!
This was my first encounter at this visually pleasing restaurant. The occasion, my sisters birthday and I have to say- I WAS VERY disappointed by the service AND food. The manor in which we were treated was disgraceful. We were ushered to a tabel by the side of the resturant- hidden away, treated as if we were some sort of burden and generally given very very poor service. On entry no one offered to take our jackets, (clock room service was available) it seemed they were reserving this for their 'more affluent diners', as a result our party of 16 were left to stuff their jackets, scarves etc by the sides of their stools (yes our table had stools, not chairs). Within five minutes of arriving the female waiter barked at us to orders and choose drinks, disregarding the fact that we only had 5 menus between the 16 of us. Again it wasn't until I brought this to her attention before we were given menus. We had no tissues, water sauces etc on our table, we had to keep asking for these things which for me should be on every tabel at any decent resturant, if you get this in a cafe-I'd expect to get the same to say the least at a £25 per head (from) restaurant. The final nail in the coffin came when my sisters boyfriend asked for the birthday cake to be brought out and was ignored time and time again. As a last resort, he went over to the gentleman at the bar (who was looking at us suspiciously all night as if were going to do a runner) only to be shouted at and told to 'sit down' as if he was a child. We did eventually get the cake but after the birthday girl had left...this was by far the worst Chinese resturant I've ever been to! The service was poor, the ambience was very dull and uncomfortable and to be honest the food was just not up to scratch- don't waste your money!
