Onancock, The Inn & Garden Cafe

we were invited to dinner last night to the inn garden & cafe in ononcock va- this was our first time there and what a delight- we happened to be there early and it was fairly quiet- the friends who invited us were friends with the owner so we all received hugs upon arrival- there was nothing common or ordinary about our meal- the menu was our first hint at the culinary delight we were about to experience- fortunately we all were in the mood to try new things- good decision- the bloody mary crab cocktail was a nifty take on the normal standby of crab cocktail and the dinners were out of this world- i had the seeded eggplant and portobello stack with polenta- oh my gosh- my husband had the scalapenni and our friend had the seared scallops- during dinner the chef came out to see how everything was- always a nice touch- but then it was time for desert- my husband teasingly asked the waitress to ask the chef to make bananas foster- each couple ordered a desert to share- well much to our delight not only were the deserts outrageous but bananas foster arrived too- how cool- great meal- looking forward to going again!!!!
