A Large Group Of Us Arrived At The Restaurant. Tho
A large group of us arrived at the restaurant. Those who were not eating, maybe 3 out of 25 people were charged 5 pounds to sit down. We were rushed through dinner, and told we needed to hurry and leave after perhaps and hour and a half, most of which was spent waiting for food. As we were leaving, the waiter was complaining about how slow we were. When confronted, he verbally assaulted us, using extremely offensive language, and nearly physically assaulted two members of our group. The waiter in question actually followed us out of the restaurant to pick a fight. From the moment we walked in the door we were treated with utter disrespect. I have never been so insulted in my life. Please, join me in never patronizing this restaurant.
TERRIBLE SERVICE AND RUDE STAFF - DO NOT EAT HERE!!
My boyfriend and me dined here and although the food was good, the service was appalling. Our waitress was sullen and seemed annoyed as only one of us ordered a drink, even though we had several poppadoms, expensive main meals and side dishes. The bill arrived with a service charge of a random amount. We read the menu again and saw a note saying 'Service Charge added for an amount at manager's discretion' - surely they shoud state a specific percentage by law?. We challenged the waitress about this and she said she'd go and speak to her boss and we were left sitting there for 10mins and ignored whilst she proceeded to serve others. When we reminded her she said in a cold voice' the manager is away so we can't give you your money back' . At this point we started getting upset and she still wouldn't budge. Eventually, when she could see we were not leaving or giving she begrudgingly returned our money. We both left feeling stressed. AWFUL!!!!

The Food At Curry King Cambridge Was Fine, Althoug
The food at Curry King Cambridge was fine, although the portions were small and on the expensive side. When we asked for the bill there was an unpleasant surprise. Near the top, amongst the prices for the various dishes, an extra sum had been added which we did not recognise as being something we ordered. When we questioned what it was the waiter showed us the menu with 'we reserve the right to add a service charge'. Whilst I recognise that some restaurants do this, the percent charged is usually marked on the menu, it is usually added only for large or difficult groups, and it is usually clearly marked at the bottom of the bill so that it is clear what they have asked for. In this case, I suspect they hoped that we would not notice and would leave a second tip. Also, as no percent was specified they could have written any sum and expected us to pay ( the service charge added was significantly more than 10% and we were a quiet, sober table for two). Avoid.
