Anchor Inn Has A Prime Location On The Sea Front A
Anchor Inn has a prime location on the sea front at Burnham on Crouch.
It competes with several other pubs and restaurants within a hundred yards and offers a bar food/restaurant menu with main meals at c.£8
- high end for pub grub.
We have eaten at other venues in the area and decided to try this one recently but were very disappointed.
We arrived at 1:30 and ordered from the main menu - not specials. On ordering we were told that the 'Steak and Ale' pie would actually be pie filling in a yorkshire pudding. We agreed to this change.
The food took over 40 minutes to arrive and the 'pie' dish contained just the filling, and not much of it. When asked what had happened to the yorkshire pudding the waitress showed complete disinterest with a shrug and said that there were none of these either. There was no offer of a price reduction or any form of appology.
If by now we were not ravenous I would have returned the meal and eaten elsewhere.
I will however not be returning to the restaurant!
