China China, Saffron Walden

Didnt eat in the restaurant but ordered take away instead. Food was adequate if you was drunk and didnt care.

China China has been in Saffron Walden for longer than any of the other Chinese Resaurants. It is the best, most friendly and has superb food.

What can be better?

When i went to The China China it was a calm, and very realaxful atomsphere. The service was excellent and everybody (all the customers) seemed very happy!When I was served with some Sweetcorn & Chicken Soup it had a lovely, warm texture and all the other foods make me fall in love with chinese food! I hope to eat more of there delicious food...yum,yum...

Warm welcome from the owners; egg shell blue walls, soft lighting, Chinese string music playing softly in the background, Chinese silk paintings on the walls, live plants dotted around the tables and in the windows, freshly laundered table linen. Generous portions of delicious food served promptly and genuine care taken by the owners who wait table. Excellent value.

THE CHINA CHINA is a very polite and friendly restaurant, my family and i have been going here for years and we have never experienced any problems what so ever, the food is perfect and the service is exceptional polite and very friendly.........

Long list...Firstly, when i ordered the "four seasons vegetable soup", which claimed to be vegetarian, it included beef, prawns, chicken and crab, even after I repeatedly mentioned I was vegetarian. It didn't say anything on the menu about meat, and when I complained, one of the waitresses said the chef just got confused.Secondly, as When we ordered the "orange surprise" ice cream, we certainly got a surprise. there were pieces of cardboard in the bottom of the orange! When i told the man who served it, he just looked at me and walked off.When I went to hand in the bill and didn't leave a tip, the same man glared at me so I pretty much felt obliged to leave one. I can honestly say my experience was not near what i expected, as it was apparently "one of the best Chinese restaurants in Essex."

Generally, i can say that China China wasn't what it was said to be like. The food was alright, but the service was terrible.

Saffron, Walden, Chinese, China China - After a number of visit the food continues to be good and well priced. The set menus are varied and the portions are huge.
