Gibson's Grey Lady, Newtown Linford

i have been to for several meals here and every time i have found it a great experience. whether in a party or just me and my girlfreind, its genuinely a superior venue.

Although £40+ might be expensive for meal, Gibsons Gray Lady can easily be described as value for money. the service is freindly, the staff are knowlegable, the atmosphere is refined without being pretentious and the food is simply amazing.

while on the food: the menu is varied and seasonal with well balanced, perfectly sized courses. 2 things blew me away; firstly the Fillet of beef which was fantastic quality, excellently cooked and with the clever addition of a small pot of slow cooked shoulder for extra texture and flavour. secondly the passion fruit sorbet which was genuinely the best desert i have come across - slightly crispy on top but silky smooth sweet filling, the right balance of textures with caramalised bananas, mouse cubes and a sorbet.

i took my girlfreind for a birthday meal and having spoken to the manager and asked for them to keep and then present a gift for me during the meal, they went above and beyond and got a rose for the table and an extra chocolate cake with 'happy birthday' written (with a suprising amount of skill) in chocolate and a candle.

I rarely write reviews (unless its something really bad or really good) but simple touches like that and the stunning food, prompted me to want to sing their praises.

for me, this is the best restaurant in Leicestershire and should be visited at least once by everyone - i will certainly be going back.

The Grey Lady offers amazing food both a large menu selection and extremely well presented. There is no room for doubt that no expense was spared in the refurbishment of this restaurant. All the food is locally sourced and home cooked even down to the chutney on the cheese board. Amazing decor really finished the dining experience. And the gents toilets are well worth a visit!!! I was also astonished at the prices as everything is so reasonable for the size of the portions and was shocked when the bill came as i thought it was cheap! staff were attentive yet not to clingy

Brilliant restaurant well worth a visit now it has been modernized.
