Dim Sum At The New Ocean City Is Highly Disappoint
Dim Sum at the New Ocean City is highly disappointing. The food was either cold or burnt. The quality and standard of the food and service was very poor. There was only a few small tables occupied (mainly European) on a Sunday lunch time, when traditionally a busy time for a good dim sum restaurant - should have known better and turned around and not bothered. The staff don't even speak Cantonese, only one of the staff is able to speak English, while the rest only speak mandarin. Only managed to eat a few mouthful of the six dishes ordered, when I complaint, the manageress was very rude, we basically had to paid nearly £10 per head for food that we didn't eat because it was so bad. To top it all, we were charged for boiled tap water, as one of our party will only drink boiled water.

Sunday Lunch At The New Ocean City Is The Worst Ex
Sunday lunch at the New Ocean City is the worst experience that I ever had. Some of the food was obviously re-heated, and burnt. When I initially complained to one of the waitress about the food, we were ignored. We ordered (two adult and one child) 5 dim sum dishes and the special house noodle between us, and out of the whole order, we can only managed to eat one of the dishes because we were so hungry by this point. When I asked for the bill and had a quiet word with the manageress about the standard of the food, I was basically told that I don't have any taste or know anything about Chinese food (by the way I am Chinese and my son who was with me, who usually eats just about anything, couldn't even stomach the food on offer, as it was so bad). We basically paid nearly £30 for one small dim sum dish that we managed to eat.

The Dim Sum And Cantonese Dishes At The New Ocean,
The dim sum and Cantonese dishes at The New Ocean, Nottingham, are, on the whole, very well and authentically prepared (as one might expect, given that the staff all seem to speak Cantonese). We have eaten there several times, and each time, the quality of most of the dishes was consistently high. This restaurant has now gone from being yet another low-quality "all you can eat" place for English people to being a more-than-acceptable Cantonese restaurant. Almost all of the clientele other than we, when we were there, were Chinese -- and that's always a good sign. Consistently good, authentic Cantonese food, acceptable prices (especially if one pays cash), a friendly owner. The decor is tired and not particularly attractive, and the service can be slow and inconsistent -- but let's face it, those are also signs of authenticity.... When I enter a Chinese restaurant and see elaborate decor, I usually turn around and leave.

I recommend the claypot beef, "salad" prawn (lightly fried in batter prawns covered in a sort of mayonaise sauce over blanched brocolli), ma-poh tofu (tofu cooked with minced meat and spicy bean sauce), the ala carte dishes like cantonese fried kuey teow, rice porridge with minced pork and century egg, special fried rice.
I do enjoy going to New Ocean City restaurant every so often for my favourite dishes. Its not the best restaurant because not everything on their menu is good. But for the dishes which are authentic and tasty, I would recommend it.

Not Much Good To Say At All. Bad Sevice, Less Than
Not much good to say at all. Bad sevice, less than mediocre food and far less adaptable than other restaurants in the city, which will all happily add on a nice veggie tofu dish if you don't eat meat.
We won't go back, because of the slow service and because they offered no incentive to go back, to be honest.
In my experience, the worst Chinese in Nottingham and we eat out at Oriental places once a week, at least. Try Nosh in Arnold, Man Ho in Hockley, China Wok on Derby Road or even Mayfair, where the staff are pleasant, welcoming, don't get the orders wrong, deliver everything at the same time and are happy to adapt dishes for diners with special reequests.

It Became The Best Chinese Restaurant In Nottingha
It became the best Chinese restaurant in Nottingham since they changed all-you-can-eat to table service. The price of the all-you-can-eat is so competitive compared to all the other Chinese restaurants in Nottingham. There are over 100 choices on the New Ocean menu, and all the food is freshly cooked.

I Recently Dined At New Ocean City With A Friend F
I recently dined at New Ocean City with a friend for the first time. The price of the all-you-can-eat buffet is very competitive at just under 11.00 for an adult. I noticed as well that it was "family friendly". The staff were very attentitive and were more than happy to help however, I was disappointed with the quality of the food. It was a Monday night, and quite early, so that might explain why there were not too many people dining but this might have led to the problem with the temperature of the food. The turnover of the food was slow so lots of dishes had been standing a while and were lukewarm or cold. In normal circumstances I would have tried many more dishes, had they been hot.

New Ocean City Is An Excellent Restaurant To Lunch
New Ocean City is an excellent restaurant to lunch or dine in. The quality of the food is excellent, the service is great, and even the background music suits the restaurant. You can go inside and say you want all you can eat; that is a good choice, there is a large quantity of oriental food. Everything delicious, to suit every mouth. You then get asked what you would like to drink, you order what you want. And then you go and grab a plate and get enything you are tempted to eat, prawns, spring rolls, egg fried rice, etc.. It is very good value for your money. The service is just great, the waiters are always looking out for if you are enjoying yourself. Everytime, it's a good experience going there. I recommend it to anyone, and I mean anyone who likes to try new things.. Or find things you haven't eaten in a long time. Located in Nottingham City Centre.
This review is excellent, the restaurant is of a very high standard and everybody, in my opinion, should visit it, it will be the time of your life literally. It's the best Chinese restaurant in the UK. I went there and I couldn't stop eating all those things I forgot the delicious taste of!! It's Amazing.
