Disappointing Food And Pushy Waitress.

Myself and 4 friends went for a birthday celebration. We had ordered a bottle of white wine which the waitress poured between 5 and very quickly came over with another bottle opened which we had not asked for. Similarly when we said we did not want dessert she asked us several times anyway same with coffees and after dinner drinks of which some of us ordered. The starters were also overpriced at approx 6.50 upwards eg for crab on toast and just rather ordinary. 2 of the main courses were fish that were supposed to be in a vinagrette. Unfortunately both dishes were covered in oil which we asked to be drained. The waitress did not seem very happy when we requested this to be done. All in all a mediocre meal and service and would definitely not recommend considering the excellent range of restaurants we have now in belfast.

Expected Better!

Didn't bring back the change after we gave them the balance, when we asked for it after a long wait they brought back a tenner which was completely wrong. The waitress who brought us our mains just set the plates down (like she couldn't be bothered) and turned and walked off letting out a huge sneeze (thankfully she was facing away from us - felt sorry for the people in her line of fire though). Definitely not what I expected from Deans Deli. Far better restaurants in Belfast which charge less.

I Went To Deane's Deli On 17 March 2011 With My H

I went to Deane's Deli on 17 March 2011 with my husband and the food was appalling. Both The starter and the main dish were served within minutes of us having placed our order and unsurpisingly the food was not cooked properly. The vegetables needed to be cooked for at least another 10 minutes and the steak was not only severely undercooked but was also of a very poor quality. In addition, the range of dishes on the menu was really limited. All in all this was a very dissappointing experience and we will definitely not be back nor will we be reccommending it to anyone.

Food Quality: Given This Was A Simple Breakfast, M

Food Quality: given this was a simple breakfast, mid-morning, in an establishment supposedly renowned for its culinary excellence, I was shocked at the sheer amateurism. The fried eggs were uncooked, the bacon burnt, and the soda bread was half-toasted/fried (dry and unappetising). It was horrible.

Environment: I was sat at the rear right of the bistro. I was accompanied by 'bar flies' for the duration of my visit (not 2 or 3, more like a swarm).

Service: The worst. When ordering at the counter, I waited for 3 minutes while the lady serving discussed her social life with a friend who was in buying a coffee take-away. When I asked a passing waitress for another coffee, she told me - kurtly - that I had to re-order at the counter. I then left.

I would not return to this filthy dump if the food was free.

I Went To What I Believed To Be One Of The Best Re

I went to what i believed to be one of the best resaurants in belfast with my husband only to be appauled by the level of poor quality service and bland and unexciting menu. apon arrival we were greated by a charming fellow called john who seated us and took our drinks order, after which the evening took a turn. it then took 15 minutes for the drinks to arrive after which a further 15minutes before any sign of a menu (and i failed to mention we were 1 of only 5 tables in the venue). after ordering from a very small and boring menu the starters came out 25 minutes later, only to be sent back as they were undercooked. They did get it better second time around. For our main course we ordered a bottle of wine(pinot noir) from who i can only assume was a manageress although it was hard to tell as all the staff were just standing at the bottom of the restaurant chatting. The girl obviously did not know her wine and brought me the house shiraz. The problem was fixed (with no appologie) and then our main course came (some 45mins after our starters had left). Once they arrived we only had to ask for some main course cuttley before we could begin our meal. The main courses had mixed reviews, my husband enjoyed the Ribeye however my Deanes Deli Burger was under cooked (yeah an undercooked burger????)but i had had enough of the evening and at this point was really hungry so ate part of it anyway. Which then brought us to the best part of the whole experience. Leaving!

"Best Restaurant in Belfast" I DONT THINK SO!

I Thoroughly Enjoyed My Meal This Evening, We Had

I thoroughly enjoyed my meal this evening, we had the Portavogie Fish & chips, followed by chocolate torte dessert - service was very good, staff more than pleasant, food delicious and ample servings too. Only objection was the alcohol was just a bit too expensive for my pocket - £5.60 for glass of wine, £3 for glass of beer, otherwise well done Deanes, it was a good experience and I will be back.

Deanes Deli, Belfast - Lamb Cutlets Seemed Practic

Deanes Deli, Belfast - Lamb cutlets seemed practically raw, and was served with a knife that could quite simply not be made to cut through the meat. Sent it back and got it exchanged for their fish and chips. £13 for perhaps the blandest and most tasteless fish I'd had. The batter was crisp enough, but the portion was tiny, and completely unseasoned. When a bog standard Harvester serves up far better fish than this so called bistro for less than half the price, one has to what the hell they are thinking. And I thought the mushy peas were a joke.

A Lovely Place To Stop For Coffee Or Lunch During

A lovely place to stop for coffee or lunch during the day and very good for evening meals. A good varied menu backed up with a good range of wines. I've eaten there several times and I have not been disappointed.

Went To Deanes Deli Last Week. Thai Green Curry W

Went to Deanes Deli last week. Thai Green Curry was bland, tasteless and un-seasoned. Had fish pie as a replacement, it was also bland and tasteless with hard lumps of raw potato. The Moules Mariniere had the same watery, bland, unseasoned sauce as the other 2 dishes with mussels about the size of a cockle.

I have e-mailed Deanes 10 days ago, but no reply.

I will not go back.
