Eat Else Where
Visited Saturday, was not busy Food arrived cold, over cooked and tasteless, value for Money, certainly not. waitress took meal back then returned what seemed the same plate but warmed up possibly in the microwave. We will eat else where like Barbacoa, somewhere were the chef takes pride in what they cook. But maybe they only have a cook here surely no decent chef would serve food like this.

Rude Manager And Mangeress
Me and around 30 members of our family arranged for food after my grandads funeral, the food was just left on a scruffy table the staff , the manager and and his wife were rude and unfeeling, the majority of our family were elderley some in their nineties, who under the circumstances felt bad enough. The food was poor for the money paid.
Another time i was there with my mate on a saturday night, at around 10pm the managers wife started hoovering around us when we were drinking, she then asked us to move further down so that she could close the area we were in. The best thing the pub chain can do is change the managers , poor and rude to see the least. i wont be going back in a hurry.

Manager Very Bad
WENT TO THE NAGS HEAD AFTER A BURIAL AT THORNTON CEMETRY
WAS TREATED DISPICABLY BY THE MANAGER
WE MISTAKINGLY SAT IN THE WRONG PLACE AND HE WENT OF HIS HEAD
NO COMPASSION FOR OUR SITUATION
DONT GO THERE
Poor Staff Attitude
having just got back from the Nags with my family i found the food was nice but the Bar staff especially were unhelpful and didnt seem to give a care about the customers , we were a large party and split the order up as to who was paying what , because there was a bit of a delay between the 2 orders the waitress said nothing could be done about all the food coming out together and we would have to accept this . A notice was pointed out to us but as we had not been there for a while this was of no use to us .
Later on we asked for 4 small glasses of coca cola only to be told they were only served in pints which as the children are young is not ideal so we refused to buy them and the barman didnt give a monkeys no alternative was offered

Bad Management!!!
I took my girlfriend and her 5 year old daughter to the nearby crematorium.she went to visit her mums grave who had only died 2 years before.she had not slept or stopped crying all week.went the nags head for a meal to hopefully cheer her up afterwards.food amazing, staff (WITH EXCEPTION)so helpful.then when my girlfriend went to the bar to order the dessert we had payed for her daughter.she was approached by the manageress carol and informed in an aggressive manner that she thought she had enough(meaning she was too drunk).my girlfriend had not even touched a drop in over a week and she was physically exhausted from grief and she hadn't even ordered any alcoholic drinks while there.she then returned to inform me we had to leave.I never questioned it if I had I would have gave this Carol a piece of my mind.she had been really upset all week.if you are going to run a pub so close to a crematorium then you should expect people to turn up at your pub upset and not accuse them of being drunk.I will never go to this pub again while its under the same management!!!!!I am quite sickened by how callous and unthinking the management is here.

Attitude
I have used this place for a couple of years, i have had no problem with any of the food till i went on Tuesday 25th 2012.
I ordered the cow pie which is new on the menu, when i got it the pastry was hot, when i cut into it the filling was ice cold, i mentioned this to the waitress and she said i could order something else and she offered me a free glass of wine.
I ordered steak and when i got it it seamed ok, by the time i finished a third of the steak was grissle, when i finally found the manageress and mentioned it i got my money back and then just brushed off as i if it did not matter.
I am not sure if the management and cooks have changed but i noticed a big drop in quality of food and service.
No disrespect to the waitress as she done as much as she could and was very polite.

The Nags Is Top Banana, Staff Are Really Nice But
The nags is top banana, staff are really nice but the management can be a bit arsey over children. But really pubs are for adults and are not really meant for children. Food is ok but what do you expect for a fiver, if you want pukka nosh then nip down to south road to a restaurant. Food is ok, beer is sound and pub is nice. see later peeie boy
