After Reading Previous Reviews Myself, Husband And
After reading previous reviews myself, husband and another couple were disappointed with our meals, especially the leek and potato soup. The entrance to the premises are drab and overall the property is tired and in need of decorating. Out the back is a garden with table and chairs, which on a good day would be a sun trap. However, the garden is in need of attention and if this was done it would be a lovely place to sit and enjoy a drink.

The Haven Is Ever-welcoming With Friendly Staff An
The Haven is ever-welcoming with friendly staff and customers. The soups are always tasty, and while the menu tends to follow a set formula at times, it always has a good selection off fresh, Scottish fare.
One issue with the Haven that would make visiting more pleasant, are the chairs. They are hard, you tend to slip down them and sit akwardly - they do not allow for comfortable sitting.
That said, that does not stop me returning as I know I will get good value for money, great food and nice service.

Wonderful Soups (massive Helpings!) And Haddock Mo
Wonderful soups (massive helpings!) and haddock mornay to die for. All this and a great view over the harbour out toward the Isle of May. Not managed to be around during one of the famous quiz nights or for an accoustic session but told they are lively nights. Great friendly place all round.

The Haven Restaurant In Cellardyke Is Set Overloo
The Haven Restaurant in Cellardyke is set overlooking the old harbour. It has a warm friendly welcome and the standard of food is one of the best in the area.
They seem to specialise in seafood but also offer a variety of good old traditional stuff such as Home made Steak and Ale pie, Roast Chicken Breast and homemade soup (all fresh and not frozen). I asked about the accompaniments to the meal and all are made fresh on the premises, from their Tartar sauce to their traditional Italian Pesto through to pepper sauce and Guacamole.
I can say that the Haven Bar and Restaurant in Cellardyke is well worth a visit and believe me when I say from fish to steak the quality and taste is gets a 9 out of ten from me.

The Haven Is Very Close To Our Holiday Apartment I
The Haven is very close to our holiday apartment in nearby Dove Street. We are always made very welcome by the owners and they also allow our dog in but not in the eating area of course. The food and drink is priced ok and although the menu becomes a bit predictable I always have the fish and chips anyway. Its from the fish filleter next door so its very fresh. The decor is tired there is no denying but its clean, as are the loos, and I like the place. Some reviews here are from people who are in the wrong place or want restuarant quality for pub grub prices. Chill out folks, wake up and smell the haddock.

My Husband And I Are Real Foodies - We Eat Here A
My husband and I are real foodies - We eat here a lot and really enjoy the range and quality of food on offer - fresh and exciting seafood dishes, such as seabass with a pesto risotto, local langoustine, hand dived king scallops or locally hot smoked salmon really play a big part on the menu and are extremely well cooked by the chef/owner. The steaks are simply wonderful - big and juicy with a piquant pepper sauce on the side if you fancy. Soup is always home-made (lentil with rosemary, beetroot, or good old leek and potato for instance) and the smoked haddock chowder is a meal in itself.Vegetarians are well catered for, with exciting and tasty dishes such as goats cheese and beluga lentil tart on the menu.
There is a decent wine list with something to suit everyone. The bar staff make a very good gin and tonic and the proprietess makes excellent, spicy Bloody Marys! The beer garden is really lovely to sit and eat or simply have a drink in too. The Haven just keeps getting better and better! We recommend it heartily.

The Haven Is A Small Pub/restaurant That Overlooks
The Haven is a small pub/restaurant that overlooks Cellardyke Harbour. All meals are served upstairs. The menu has a good mix of dishes with some emphasis on seafood though not overwhelmingly so. The quality of the food is good with some interesting fish dishes being presented. The owners have worked very hard in updating the menu which takes it a cut above regular pub grub. The set lunch represents excellent value for money. Beware it can get busy on Friday and Saturday nights particularly during holiday times so it may be worth booking.

Nice Atmosphere In The The Haven, Cellardyke Besid
Nice atmosphere in the The Haven, Cellardyke beside the bar on the first floor looking out across the harbour towards the sea. The food was tasty, well presented and reasonable value.
Someone should remind the chef that heating pastry in a microwave makes it go unpleasantly soggy (quiche first night & apple strudel second). Staff were friendly and attentive even when busy on Sunday night.
We ate there on our first night and liked it so much we went back the next night. Recommended.
