V C Jones of Whitstable Fish & Chips

From a former child who had fish and chips at Whitby on holidays in his childhood, this is indeed a compliment. On 17th June, my wife's birthday, we had a day trip and this was the place for our lunch. My haddock and chips were perfect, batter crispy and tasty. Wife's portion of cod similar in quality. More than adequate quantity, certainly of chips. Mushy peas of the right consistency and with some taste. (I have come across many an insipid tasteless goo from other places in the past, including the shop where Peter Mandelson thought he had guacamole.) Teas were hot and fresh. Food was prepared to order. Service was friendly, prompt and helpful. Prices reasonable. We will be returning in due course.
