Canyon, Richmond upon Thames

fabulous location--overlooking water--quiet, however the restaurant is no longer there--it has now been replaced with a gaucho grill.

We had a real shock when ate at the Canyon restaurant by the riverside in Richmond. We knew it was upmarket, but the cost of food and drink was prohibited and out of all proportion. The portions were microscopic. The service was efficient, but not allowed to relax as your plate was cleared as soon as we had finished our last mouthful. Very much the hard sell. The staff were generally young and too inexperienced for a restaurant of this quality!! It also lacked atmosphere. We spent over £80 a head, and left feeling starving and cheated. Exorbitant prices. This is one restaurant where we will not return or recommend.
