Excellent Food

What can I say about this restaurant it's a treat to have this kind of food with best taste we ever had,The best thing we loved about this restaurant is the orchid platter the meat is very tender and juicy and the lamb chops were beautifully cooked, apart from food the environment and service was excellent my whole family was fully satisfied with our visit and for sure it is best place to have food with our beloved ones.

Beautifully Presented, Tasty Food

As a work night out we had decided on another local Indian restaurant but when we arrived it was closed forcing us to try and find somewhere else. We wandered up Richmond Hill and saw the Delhi Orchid. It looked fairly nice inside and prices looked reasonable.

Being early on Thursday evening it was quiet inside with only a handful of other diners.

We got our drinks order quite quickly and asked for some help on which dishes to choose whilst we ate some poppadoms (the sauces given were properly the weakest bit of the meal as we missed having a very chunky sauce to dip into like lime chutney). The waitress was friendly and seemed a little shy but gave us honest answers.

We all had a starter and when they arrived we were impressed. The presentation was stunning and they tasted lovely. I had Khatha Meetha Paneer which had a great spicy sauce plus fruity mango. The others had Aloo Tikka Chaat and Chicken Shaslik and all looked five star.

We all swapped a bit of each others starter as we each had food envy ;)

The mains were also good. Rich tasty gravies for our curries and tender meat. My murg Xacuti was a curry from Goa and was amazing. The naan bread was buttery and soft and even the plain rice was perfect. We finished everything without feeling overly full at the end.

I have to say that most times I go out for an Indian I normally end up disappointed as each main seems to be made as the same curry but with a slightly different vegetable in it or simply just more chilli. I was really pleasantly surprised how good this was.

I would recommend anyone looking for a really decent curry in relaxed surroundings to give it a go.
