The Red Lion Is A Suprising Find That Is Well Wort

The Red Lion is a suprising find that is well worth visiting if you are in the Guildford/Godaming area.

The staff appear all to be French, and are friendly without exception. The menu is famous for being enormous- there must be 200 dishes from all cuisines.

We had a bottle of the house white wine, which was lovely, lemoney, and crisp (also French). We had Lamb and pork dishes that were the tenderest meat I've had in a long time. The vegetables that came with them were fresh, not frozen, and cooked to perfection.

We weren't going to have a desert, but were so impressed with the main course we had to. The raspberry creme brulee and lemon merengue pie were both home-made, and had us groaning with pleasure.

This was probably the best meal I've had in a very long time in this country, and two courses with wine and coffee came to around £40, but we would have paid much more!
