Hi I Dined At The Plum Pudding (il Marc

Hi

I dined at the Plum Pudding (Il Marchigiano) restaurant last night. The food (Italian) was absolutely superb, with service to match. For the first time in a long time, I was spoilt for choice and it took me a while to decide what to order. There were 8 of us in our party and not one of us was disappointed. The food looked great, tasted great and as we all tasted each others sources was a great topic of conversation. If you have never been you are missing something. I dine out at least twice a week and this restaurant is amongst the best.

Terrible - Really Dont Bother!!! The Wine List Was

Terrible - Really dont bother!!! The wine list was appauling, the food selection limited, the absence for an 'italian' of balsamic and rocket and parmesean....Disregard the Italian flags outside as inside you may as well be in a 2 for 1!! in fact our local "The Old Peculiar" in Handsacre would have served better food with more atmosphere!

Shoddy.......never judge a book by its cover- in fact the chef must have looked a great deal like a microwave!!!

I Have Just Returned From Home Having Been Seated

I have just returned from home having been seated for 3 hours to receive two of the three courses we ordered at The Plum Pudding Brasserie. We were lead to our table at 7.30 & waited until 8.15 before our starter arrived; the incompetent staff asked us if we wanted the desert menu after our starter? The wine we ordered arrived with the main course which seemed an age and to top it all we waited 45 minutes for a desert that never arrived;at this point we asked for the bill paid our dues and left, never to darken the doors again. If I ran my business this way I would deserve to be bankrupt!

We Had Been Warned That Service Could Be Slow On A

We had been warned that service could be slow on a Saturday night at the plum pudding brasserie so my wife and I were relieved it wasn't full when we arrived at 8.30 (timed to suit the restaurant).Drinks were ordered and delivered swiftly. But it was 20 minutes before the food order was taken and a further 10 minutes before we were asked to re-order because of a shortage. It was a further hour before the food arrived. The manageress apologised that the orders had been lost in the kitchen and offered compensation. After a reminder a token discount appeared on the bill.

The Plum Pudding Brasserie, in Armitage, Rugeley is a great restaurant in terms of the food and wine. It's just getting to order it that was the problem.
