Visitor To The Uk

We came to this restaurant by family that live nearby, it was one of the best pubs we had been to, the food and service were top notch

Needs A Shakeup

A first and last visit to this establishment, it needs a revival of its menu and some staff training, one of the elderly male waiters seemed as if he was just passing the time, we nicknamed him Mr cheerful.

I had a black pudding & potato salad starter, which I can only describe as a small portion & grim, my partner fared better with the parma ham melon choice.

For mains I decided on the Fillet steak wagon wheel, the sauce it was served with , was again grim, it would have tasted better with tomato sauce. The extensive wine list contained only one New Zealand wine, which was pleasant, although bringing a bottle of wine to the table opened is unforgivable.

Clearing plates from the table before everyone had finished, again some staff training is essential.

The sweet trolley looked like a health hazard, all in all a disappointment after a recommendation from friends as a good place to eat. And at over £40 a head, with only one bottle of wine and two small glasses of beer, I think a wake up call is needed.

Always Good Service And Fantastic Food.

Have visited here on a regular basis over the last 6 years. Best Steaks in Worcester. Service is always good to the point where if the veg of the day is not to our teenage son's taste, they will cook him an alternative. Celebrated my 50th here with a party of 10 all of which were impressed with the service and food.

Putting The Record Straight.....

This was our first evening visit for several years, having previously been many times for birthdays and special occasions. We have always enjoyed the warm ambience of the location, described by some as 'old fashioned' or 'dated', being a reminder to us of what real pubs used to be like. We were greeted as old friends and made to feel most welcome.

The menu has something for everyone. The starters are generous in proportion and the fillet steaks are the finest I have ever eaten. The sweet trolley held a mouthwatering selection of waist expanders!

We adjourned for coffee in the bar and made our way home very satisfied in the knowledge that our favourite restaurant still cuts it.

It it's glitz, bright lights and nouvelle cuisine you're after - think again. On the otherhand, if you like good food, a quiet atmosphere and a gentle reminder of 'better times'- then I recommend a vist.

I First Visited The Wagon Wheel Some Years Ago And

I first visited the Wagon Wheel some years ago and I have to say I was less than impressed. Having not visited since I was interested to see if anything had changed. On arrival the car park was busy, a good sign I thought.

Once inside it looked the same as it did 9 years ago, tired and very old fashioned. I was ushered into the bar with the rest of my party and was surprised at the limited choice of wine or lager, especially for a restaurant of its' size. 2 lagers is simply not good enough. With regards to the house wine, I wasn't expecting Sancerre but an average Pinot would have done the job. However, the wine was warm and cheap. Once inside the restaurant, it was much of the same with old, tired looking decor and dralon curtains.

The age range was also older and I would suggest not particularly a child friendly venue.

The food if I'm being kind, was at best well below average. However, what I will remember most from my visit was the service. In a word it was 'terrible'.

I dine out fairly often all over the midlands and I have to say the service here ranks in the worst 3 or 4 of the restaurants I have visited. I felt as though the party was an inconvenience to the staff, who simply looked as though they didn't want to be there pretty much throwing the food onto the table. I asked 3 times for extra bread, in the end I simply gave up. I also visited the bar 3 times during the length of our visit as none of the staff offered to replenish our drinks. Very very disappointed and not a place I will visit again.

Absolutely Scandalous. Ordered Beef And It Came Ou

Absolutely scandalous. Ordered beef and it came out as a plate of fat which still looked alive it was that raw. The staff were the most rudiest I have ever come across. The customers were also very rude and it is definitely not child friendly. Will not be visiting again as everytime I think of the cow practically still mooing on my plate I feel physically sick!!

This Was My First Time To The Waggon Wheel. Havin

This was my first time to the Waggon Wheel. Having read earlier reviews I was a little sceptical but I am so glad I wasn't put off. The food was absolutely mouth watering, cooked and served to perfection. I loved the way the main dishes were cooked in the restaurant and the vegetables served at the table rather than just bunged in a dish and stuck on the table. The old fashioned sweet trolley was a delight. The staff were extremely friendly without the constant hovering you get at many places these days. All in all, a restaurant well worth the visit. I will certainly be going back soon. Stephen

I Have Dined At The Wagon Wheel At Least Four Occa

I have dined at the Wagon Wheel at least four occaisions in the last 12 months and in the past the food and service has been excellent 3 weeks ago two of us ordered chateaubriand,it came on the small side served with toms&mushrooms plus very large onion rings possibly to hide the size of the steak,it was then cut so thin you could hardly see it,it was also seved with bearnaise sauce,it was thick&lumpy too much vinegar no hint of tarragon dreadful, veg&pots were no better followed with the sweet trolley too much cream content no fruit choices disappointing night i did convey my thoughts to the owner hopefully it will improve on another visit..

As Though Entering A Time-warp...very Old, Dated D

As though entering a time-warp...very old, dated decor, 3/4 wine glasses on the table were chipped at the base, bizarre waiting staff set-up - lots of people flying around your table all trying to get over-cooked food onto your plate as quickly as possible. Food not the worst, although very unhappy to see desserts brought on a trolley without covers and to top it off the cream on top of my pie was off, resembling cottage cheese. A very expensive, stomach churning event.
