Contagion

Excellent idea for a film, including a great twist in the final frame. But overall I found it very disappointing. It looked as though it had been savagely edited to bring it down to 105 minutes. Unfortunately what remained included far too much of the tedious back story of Matt Damon's character, presumably because he was very expensive. Damon and Jude Law both went through the motions, perhaps because of slack direction. Only Kate Winslet put in a performance worthy of note. Apparently this film has made a good profit, so my reservations count for little.

I wasn't quite as down on this film as the reviewer below, but I do agree that it was not great.

I was entertained but it was a little drawn out and lacking in character development. I didn't really care for any of them.

Before watching this on DVD, I was excited to see some suspense and some mind boggling thriller action after seeing the previews, however I was left, well, completely underwhelmed by this movie.

Contagion is basically about a worldwide epidemic and how various people are dealing with it.

With all the stars contributing to this work; the first thing that pops into your head is just how grand it ought to turn out and how you're going to keep your fingers crossed for it to surpass all expectations.

In reality, by the time you got to the end, it seemed like they ran out of ideas and just slapped something together to meet a deadline.

If someone asked me what one word I would use to describe this movie, I would use the word 'disappointment'.
