Gloomy, Dark But Brilliant
The film is two and a half hour long and some viewers may find this film a bit too long but I found the film riveting to watch but initally I was perplexed at how the two characters intertwined as it took around an hour for their relationship with each other to establish.
The back story for the female character (forgot her name) is very interesting but very graphic so some viewers may find some scenes with her upsetting.
Primarilary the film is mystery thriller though it is quite slow and doesnt build up as well as others though the film is still comptently made.
Overall a great film if you're a fan of dark brooding films

Excellent - Well Worth Watching
I hadn't read the book or see the previous version of the film, so wasn't entirely sure what to expect.
The film starts off with two parallel story lines, which you know at some point will collide - and collide they do.
Daniel Craig is a disgraced journalist who takes up a role of investigating an old mans past, to try and find out who murdered his favourite relative many years ago.
Rooney Mara is a dysfunctional ward of the state who does some part-time work to dig up information on people.
They ultimately join forces to find out who killed the missing person and get caught up in a web of lies, deceit and violence.
Its a gripping film. Some pretty graphic scenes in it (particularly the Rooney Mara scenes).
I really enjoyed the film and would definitely recommend to others. Its both touching and disturbing at the same time.
Looking forward to the next one....
