LOS ANGELES BLUES is the new recording by solo acoustic guitarist Ciro Hurtado who has his own personal Latin-classical-jazz-newage-style of playing. His last album, GUITARRISTA, went to #2 on the international Zone Music Reporter Top 100 airplay chart for this type of music, and the album stayed on the chart for six months. So radio programmers will undoubtedly play the heck out of this new CD too.

Hurtado does not really sound quite like anyone else, probably because he is originally from Peru and grew up hearing a wide variety of music, especially styles from South America that the rest of the world seldom hears. He plays a nylon-string guitar so sometimes the sound has a classical feeling. He finger-picks so the sound stretches into folk rhythms. Then he throws in some of his Latin influences which takes it into a different realm. If you want to hear something refreshingly-different on the acoustic guitar, definitely check this guy out.
