Johannes Linstead, Tales of a Gypsy

The music of Johannes Linstead, a master of the Latin-guitar, crosses many genres -- world-fusion, new age, smooth jazz, Latin, and acoustic-folk. You will hear his appeal in all these areas if you listen to his new album, TALES OF A GYPSY (his eighth overall).

For example, past albums have gone to the #1 position on the eMusic World Music chart, but Linstead also has picked up honors such as Guitarist of the Year at the Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards, and Best Acoustic Instrumental Album at the new-age-oriented ZMR Awards. On-stage Linstead has become known for his energetic performances and the fiesta atmosphere his music creates.

On this new record there are tunes with accordion (“Swaying Palms,” “Vagabond Stomp” and the lovely “Sosua Bay Sunset”) mixing it up with the guitar, and also duets with violin (“Noche de la Juerga,” “Caravan of desire,” the title track and others).
