Really Impressed

I went into Sam Ash Music specifically to buy a spruce top Baby Taylor. While waiting, I picked up the Little Martin. I was really impressed by the richness of the tune not normally found in small travel guitars. When the Baby Taylor came out and I compared them, I found the sound from the Baby Taylor to be very tinny although with more volume than from the Martin.

Great Guitar, Until It Fell Apart. The Guitar's Ba

Great guitar, until it fell apart. The guitar's back became unglued and the bracing fell off. I spoke with the guitar store where we bought it, along with getting a second opinion from another store. Both agree that it was a manufacturer's defect. However, Martin would not replace. How can a person trust a company when their guitar quality is suspect?

Although it's perhaps a little late now (I note your review is nearly three years old) It could be considered that the retailer is responsible, for replacement, repair or refund, if they sold you the guitar with an inherent defect. (or not of merchantable quality)

It is then up to them to take matters up with the manufacturers or wholesalers,

The claim that such guitars have a lifetime guarantee with Martin- should be seriously questioned. Unfortunately their top man doesn't play guitar himself, he says on YouTube that most guitarists want an old looking but newer sounding guitar, every GUITARIST I have asked wants the exact opposite (New looking with mature tone). Proves beyond doubt he doesn't know what he's talking about.

I very politely queried what he had opined and got banned from posting again.

Pity you didn't know when you bought it - that unless you're famous Martin Guitars aren't interested in you or your opinions as a customer. I have personally spent many thousands of pounds with them - but will never spend a penny more. Martin used to be one of the most respected names in guitars, but now the only Martin instruments worth owning are the vintage ones.

How any supposedly reputable guitar maker can let badly finished or defective products leave their factory beggars belief.

Sadly, I had a similarly negative experience with a Martin DM some years ago. Nothing came unglued, but the neck developed a serious warp and the top became "bellied." Martin's response was these were "normal" for a "hand crafted" guitar.

I call bull$#!* on that one.

Really Nice Little Guitar, And At A Superb Price.

Really nice little guitar, and at a superb price. The solid top version has a richer sound than the laminate, but both are very nice. Just right for a begiinner. Nice action and sound to keep a beginner interested--so many "cheap" guitars are hard to play, and people get discouraged. Not with this little one!

Very Light, Perfectly Balanced Not Like Many Other

Very light, perfectly balanced not like many others, good sound for a small guitar, good price, very nice neck easy to perform on it,if you get the lxme with the fishman it sounds very nice, it also comes with a beautiful gig bag. If you travel and you want a guitar to take with you, this is the guitar for you, it is solid and good sounding, if it was stolen i would buy it again.

My Uncle Gave His Martin & Co. Lxm Little Martin T

My uncle gave his Martin & Co. LXM Little Martin to me because he was getting the LXME (Baby Martin with a pick up). The minute I picked up and played this gem I was in love! It was a bit dirty but new strings and a little rubbing with a slightly damp cloth and it was good as new. The only give-away was that the lower part of the rosette had faded off, maybe from my uncle's fingers resting there while he played wtih his thumb. I have a cheap $ 99 dreadnought and the Martin is just as loud. Great guitar! Don't forget to read or download useful info on the Martin from the Martin guitar site.

Bought My Little Martin At Mars Music And Was Very

Bought my Little Martin at Mars Music and was very pleased with the overall sound of this instrument. It's a great little guitar for pickin' while I'm chillin' or just watching TV. Frets pretty well, solid, love the way it smells, and has a very nice tone for such a small bodied guitar. Amazing how much it looks like real wood! For the money this is a nice little guitar. Comes with a nice gig bag and was a perfect fit for my needs. Very happy with it.

I Really Wanted A "packpacker" As The Idea Sounded

I really wanted a "Packpacker" as the idea sounded cool, portable, and so on. At the guitar store I played the Packpacker and it sounded terrible. I saw the baby Martin, tried it, and could not believe the bottom end and volume. Then saw the wood made Taylor. It was just barely OK. The Martin, for what it is, (some sort of composite material), can be used as a guitar, boat paddle, small desk top and at the end of the day its still in TUNE! Brought mine to keep out at our Palm Springs place. It sits sometimes for a month at 110 degrees and it is still in tune. It is best Travel Guitar. I bought this so I did not bang up my D-35.

I Was Waiting On A Baby Taylor Mahogany, And Every

I was waiting on a Baby Taylor Mahogany, and every week that went by I was going nuts. The call finally came, and off I went to my music store. The assistant went off to find the new deliveries and I saw a Martin LXM acoustic guitar hanging on the wall. So down it came and off I went. And it was amazing. The Taylor arrived - and I'm ashamed to say (I am a Taylor fan) that the LXM was in a different place. So the Taylor stayed, and me and my tough, synthetic, LXM went home. Everyone who hears it is amazed at the sound from such a small instrument. It's a tonal treat. Try one and you will see what I mean.

Martin Lxm Little Martin - Compare The Martin Lxm

Martin LXM Little Martin - Compare the Martin LXM to the Baby Taylor. It's hard to say anything against the Baby Taylor, but you don't have to have a well-trained ear to hear the better sound of the Martin. I even think the quality is a titch better on the Martin.
