Fantastic Speaker For The Money

Had my single Behgringer B210D for several months now and thought I'd write a quick review as I couldn't find any on the net before purchase.

In summery its an active (powered) PA speaker with a 10 inch mid/woofer and a 1.35 inch compression high frequency driver. Active simply means you don't need a power amp, (it has a 220 watt amp built in!!) just plug in mains and connect your mic / keyboard / CD player / mp3 / output from your mixer and away you go.

Controls are simple - 1 mains input, a mono jack input and a XLR mic input, plus XLR output for connect a 2nd speaker. On and off switch of course, then you have a volume control plus bass and treble EQ controls. That's it.

Sound wise, its great. VERY loud. Very clear. Obviously not the deepest bass from a single 10" speaker but does a good job considering. EQ is basic but works well to tweak the sound to your liking.

Flexible speaker that could be used as FOH for a small gig doing vocals plus keys, or background music for a pub/club, I actually use mine as a monitor in a band - easily the best monitor I've used.

It has a simple carrying handle, plus a hole in the base for mounting on a standard speaker stand, and is wedge shaped to enable it to be used on the floor as a monitor. Looks good too!

Seen them for about £140 in several places, I got mine for just £100 with one careful owner.

A great speaker that will prove useful in many sound re-enforcement situations, though may need a subwoofer if you want proper full range sound at high volumes.

By the way, you can connect a microphone straight into this speaker without the need for pre-mixing, which is quite unusual as most standard monitor speakers won't give you enough level for this.

Buy with confidence!

i have bought 5 of these speakers, they do well the job for the money, very bright very bassy sound, not to good for live mics gigs need a little more power, they sound great, they need an equalizer to cut some frecuencies, the b212d has more power, i dont regret buying them, these are great for the price, they are beautifull upstage, clients love them. im gonna buy one more of b212d to make a pair. no problems so far with quality issues.
