Bruichladdich Is A Strange Case - An Islay Whisky
Bruichladdich is a strange case - an Islay whisky whose standard expressions are rarely very peaty; however, they also make one of the peatiest whiskies in the world in Octomore. I've only given them three stars because to be honest I've tried quite a few of their ridiculously large number of whiskeis and more often than not I've been disappoitned. That's not to say that it is all bad whisky - far from it. The first Infinity was very enjoyable and more recently the 3D3 expression was an excellent dram. But on far too many occasions the Bruichladdich I've drunk has been bland, weird or plain unpleasant and I don't think anyone could accuse them of being good value - the distillery bottlings are all very expensive for what they are. Too many wine finishes trying to hide boring or bad spirit, in my opinion. And the owners have an astonishing persecution complex.

I Bought Myself A Small Bottle Of Bruichladdich Wh
I bought myself a small bottle of Bruichladdich when I was on holiday near Aviemore. I was buying some gifts for the family, so I thought "why not?".
The whisky was absolutely brilliant! It was sweeter than I expected, but very nice. I bought a 300ml bottle and it was gone in no time.
My only regret was not buying enough. I'll be surfing the web before too long trying to find somewhere to buy it from!
