Vinegar Juice Chardonnay

This was the only alcohol free wine I've ever tried and so far an absolute flop! It literally tasted like vinegar and juice. I attempted to make it a "spritzer" to try to drink it since it was almost 10$ at a specialty store only place I could actually find it. Maybe other flavors might be better... But the Chardonnay was terrible!

Really Not Bad, You Can Taste The Fruity Quality,a

Really not bad, you can taste the fruity quality, and it stands up to red meat well. Of course without the alcohol you lose some of the subtle sweetness that a true merlot has. But I can no longer drink any alcoholic drinks, so this is a nice alternative.

Too Sugary!!

Even the Fre chardonnay is too sweet. Why can't a company make a dry alcohol free wine? There are several NA beers that taste like beer so why not make a wine with no alcohol and MUCH LESS sugar?

Very Disappointed, Like Grape Juice, Well You Kno,,,,

I had high hopes after reading reviews to enjoy a glass of this after a long work day....however, it was just a less sweet version of regular grape juice.

Pleasently Surpised

I will just keep this simple by saying I LOVE LOVE Merlot... that love being the begining of a problem for me. I quit drinking alcohol 4 months ago & have tried several different non-alcohol wines & haven't been to impressed UNTIL this one. I found it very pleasent & the price was exceptional ... My only complaint is I can't find any local store to stock & shipping gets a little costly.

Totally Unpalatable

This is without doubt the worst alcohol free wine I have tasted.

As this wine was so bad I have tried mixing it with full alcohol wine but that simply destroys the good wine.

I strongly suggest you look elsewhere as there are some quite good alcohol free wines out there now like Torres Natureo for instance.

Like Red Wine But Want To Control Your 'alcohol Consumption'

With 'Alchol' consumption (Over indulgence) in mind, looking for a 'low volume' Red Wine is like looking for a needle in a haystack! 13-14% Vol appears to be the norm. If anything like me, once uncorked or unscrewed! a bottle seemed to evaporate all to quickly. More from the health aspect, I Started looking at the 'alcohol free' wines on the market and quickly discovered they are definately an aquired taste. varying from the yuck! to the mmmm!, but that could be said also of Normal wines. I then started experimenting by diluting the 'non alcoholic' with 'alcoholic' wine. There are so many flavours of wine available its a case of everyone to there own taste! Through trial and error I found with its fairly rich fruity flavour the 'Californian Fre Merlot' palatable with most of the higher volume Merlot wines Stating off at 50-50 you can dilute to taste! I even found after a while I could drink it on its own. Useful if your driving to take with you to friends on social occasions. Better than drinking cokes or squashes all evening. It even makes cheaper 'Plonks' more palatable. Before anyone asks or makes any comment I do not have any connections with the company and as you might have gathered am not exactly a wine connoisseur. Just someone who likes red wine but concerned about alcohol intake. For white wine drinkers or for a change the Fre Chardonnay (chilled) is quite a pleasant drink, even on its own

If someone tasted this wine at a party and didn't know it had NO alcohol, they would think they were drinking a good red body wine. The problem is, it's very hard to purchase from supermarkets in the west midlands.

You must work for Sutter Home to write a review like this. The only thing warm and dry was the label. Is is smooth, however, just like water. I found the Fre Merlot to be thin, watery and nothing like wine. Well....perhaps the color. Not the very worse I've tried though. That distinction is reserved for the Ariel Dealcoholized Cabernet. After everyone in the room tried it, we poured the rest down the drain.
