I'm A Big Fan Of Sauvignon As My Many Reviews Will
I'm a big fan of Sauvignon as my many reviews will testify and I'm keen on several examples from Marlborough. Fairhall Cliffs is a new name to most of us and in courtesy of the Majestic people, who seem to have an exclusive right to it so far. But whereas that might normally keep the price up, obviously so keen on a bit of share of a busy market, the head of Fairhall Cliffs, the same Marris responsible for Wither Hills, another Marlborough stable, has opted for an aggressive policy through their supplier. To you and me that means big savings, and two or more bottles of the stuff you can grab for less than a fiver!
The nose is a bit brambly, maybe some wild flower, but the punchy taste is classic kiwi citrus, mouth-watering and with a balanced acidity. Very pleasurable as either a pre-dinner aperitif and perfect with anything from the sea.
I was very impressed with the quality and at this price its easily the best deal I've stumbled across for quite a while. On a par with Kiwi's that are twice the price and a very welcome saving on quality plonk.
