Thoroughly disappointed with Compost Direct after buying Veggie Gold. On arrival it was full of stones, glass, ceramics and plastic and now I also discover it was full of weeds. I tried to talk to the company and even sent photos and video but was fobbed off and patronised. Never again.

I spent a lot of money on buying their 900ltr compost gold and it is awful. JUST. DAMN. AWFUL. The delivery driver refused to bring it through my garden gate (there is plenty of room) so I had to shovel it from the bag to the veg beds same day it arrived. I put it directly into my veg beds and now we (my autistic boy and I) are planting out we are finding it is full of broken glass, stones, plastics, builder's rubble and dubious debris that definitely was not present in my garden prior to purchase. We are finding the same junk as everyone else! I can't believe this company is supplying such awful junk...!! Will NEVER use this company again; they must know what they're supplying! :-(

Very poor quality , deeply dissapointed . Plants going nowhere whilst plants not in compost direct soil coming on in leaps and bounds . I wonder if it'd outsoursed in which case it's a lottery . Never again !!!!

This is my 3rd order with Compost Direct. My garden has really transformed after using their Border Gold. As I live in London and have their lorry with a hiab their driver just cranes the bags over our side fence into the garden which saves us hours of barrowing. The office staff are really helpful and I always receive an email advising me of the delivery date, which is usually only 3-4 days. Overall I cannot fault this Company and highly recommend trying them for yourself.

I recently ordered a bag of Black Gold online during a 10% off weekend but as the discount was not taken off at checkout I called them the following day. I also called to enquirer about delivery. On checking my phone bill this morning I've been charged £6 for calling their premium rate number. On a number of occasions my call was answered by a recorded message but I was still charged for the call. The product is great but until Compost Direct do away with their premium rate phone number I will not be buying from them.

I ordered 2 big bulk bags of black gold and one of ornamental bark.

Despite a 3 -5 day guarantee no one from the delivery company ever contacted me - Pallet company were 10 days late delivering product.

Compost direct customer service kept telling me to contact the pallet delivery team who had further outsourced it to a local company. local company never answered the phone. On emailing compost direct to give them feedback on the poor delivery and discussion we had to have with the driver to get the bulk bags onto the drive the compost direct lady ignored all the delivery issues and focussed on the fact that their website says they only deliver to kerbside and its driver discretion if they deliver onto drive. I pointed outfit i had asked on my online order and emailed them separately if they could let me know if there would be a problem delivering to the drive which was fully open as other builders had been delivering onto it. This they had ignored.

They were very aggressive and seemed to not be the least bit interested in all the other elements that had gone wrong. Compost is not that great either

Emailed them to confirm details of compost. Never responded and later saw they had taken the prices off the product page on their website.

I am a returning customer but will not be back to compost direct. The company has absolved itself of all responsibility for my recent order which has gone missing. Lady on the phone was plain rude and then hung up on me. Company said the failure to deliver my 2 bags was my problem and that I needed to deal with the delivery company not compost direct. So I would strongly suggest that people do not use this company. If you use them and it goes well then congratulations you were lucky! Otherwise stay well clear. If you have any sort of quality or delivery issue you will be in terrible trouble. The customer service is quite simply appalling.

Excellent product and service, staff very polite,they sorted out a very minor problem and contacted me back within Ten minutes, I bought 2 tonne bags of Veggie gold and it was delivered by a very good courier service who put it just were i wanted it, the Compost looks excellent and well worth the money,only time will tell.So on my experience i can highly recommend the company and this product.

I found large amounts of shredded plastic and nails in their "Back Gold & manure"!!!Won't be buying this again.
