Awful

I bought a Jonesared chainsaw about 5 years ago. Every year it needed to go to the shop for service. Muffler fell off. and so it goes. The last time the service tech said it is sucking air because the case is leaking and it is not worth repairing. I will never buy a Jonesared saw for the rest of my life. As far as I am concerned they are junk.

this model wasn't made 5 years ago so I am confused on how you bought it in 2008 before it was released. So if your gonna give a junk review atleast get your facts correct.

I Have Used The 2165 Almost Every Sunday For About

I have used the 2165 almost every sunday for about 2 months now. I have cut several cord of wood with it so far. This saw is fairly lightweight for the amount of power that it has. It starts very easy and runs smooth. I have cut a few maple trees up that were about 20" across and the saw slices right through them.Saw is light enough to limb trees but has more than enough power to cut through the butt as well. I have wanted to buy this saw for about 4 years now and finally pulled the trigger, wish I would have done it sooner.

I Purchased My Cs 2186 To Cut Firewood, In The Las

I purchased my cs 2186 to cut firewood, in the last month of heavy use cutting Australian hardwood of large trunk diameter of up to 4 foot, the use of a 28 inch bar made easy work of it. The 2186 has ample power with loads of torque, the only let down is that it cuts wood too quickly and if you get carried away the chain overheats and loses its edge.

Great features - love the side chain tensioning and tooless filler caps and air filter cover, decompression valve makes for easy starting.

At the time of purchase this was the best value saw i could find, and to buy a saw with more power in other brands would cost several hundreds more.

Went And Visted My Local Saw Shop And The Owner Ta

Went and visted my local saw shop and the owner talked me in to purchasing a Jonsered CS 2165. I have been using the orange and white brand for 20 years so I was a liitle skepical at first. After a couple of tanks full of gas I was sad the day was over. By far the best saw I have ever used in that range. I will never go back to the other brand and I cant wait for work tommorow!

As A Professional Timber Faller I Would Recommend

As a professional Timber Faller I would recommend Jonsored Pro Series and the CS 2165 to any Logger. I am getting the 2186 next with a 28 inch bar.

I Got My J2165 About A Year Ago. It Has Never Let

I got my j2165 about a year ago. It has never let me down and I dont half thrash it. I'm a tree surgeon and in a world dominated by stihl and husquvarna my jonsered punches well above its weight. Everyone knows its just a Husquvarna in a red shell but I wouldnt swap it. I bought my dad one for christmas and even with him being a die hard stihl fan he to has to admit its great.

By the way. Im not a rep!!!!!!!!!

I found this review very helpful because I, of course, am about to buy a new saw for the first time since 1978. My old chain saw is a Jonsered 49P which has performed for 33 years with my having to replace only bars, chains and one chain drive sprocket; no repairs have ever been needed for the motor. I'll continue to use this saw as a backup. I need a newer, safer saw with a chain brake and a cylinder decompression mechanism; I don't want to tear my shoulder's rotator cuff again (NOT caused by the saw incidentally)! This review has encouraged me to stay with the Jonsered brand.

Q&A

Started my 2165 jonsered today. It ran fine for about 10 minutes but then it acted like it could not get enough fuel.  Re-started with choke but had same problem. Now I can't get it started. Does it have a fuel filter & if so how do I change it. Thanks in advance for any help.

My oiler on my CS 2165 quit. I have cleaned the air vent port, tank and bar + oil holes in same. Still only a trickle with oiler turned up. What is the problem?

I have a Jonsered 2165 chainsaw the saw is about 10 years old and has seen very little use, the reason is the saw has always been very hard to start. Under load as when you are cutting it continually is stalling as if it is running out of gas. It will even stall when it is running at full throttle with no load. It doesn't accelerate smoothly from idle to full throttle, again sputters as it speeds up. Even with the fuel cap loosened the saw will not run with out stalling. A new carburetor has been installed and the problem continues. Two different dealers have not been able to determine the problem Any suggestions?
