Terrible Smell Dorma Duvet Cover
Just opened my order of Dorma Duvet cover and it stinks. Washed it and it still stinks. Terrible smell and you can't get rid of the smell. Do not buy Dorma duver cover from Dunelm. They are expensive and disgusting.

Wrinkled With Dark Marks
thought I'd treat myself to some nice bedding. felt £600 was expensive but expected lovely bedding, it was ridiculously poor quality. returned half of it although opened and used the rest. it is a very dark green and never noticed the dark marks at first. made the big mistake of washing bedding (carefully) and line dried but the wrinkles/creases were horrific. never known bedding to look like rags and marks didn't disappear. very disappointed and when I complained to dunelm I was fobbed off. never again.

Warning - Bad Smell From Fabric
I have recently purchased a very expensive KignSize colurful duvet from Dunelm with the make DORMA and a very bad odour comes from the fabric. Used it for a day but could not tolerate smell- washed and dried and odour still has not gone. Bedroom now has unpleasant smell. Do not recommend and will complain directly to company.

Dunelm (prev Dorma) Sateen 500tc Fitted Sheet
Bought what I thought was at an incredible bargain price of £36 with a discount (usually £46) for KS fitted sheets - described as a luxury cotton sateen fabric with a 500tc for absolute comfort.
I decided to buy 2 at that price!
I have returned the 2nd sheet after realising the 'quality' normally associated with the Dorma brand is no longer there after their buyout by Dunelm.
The cotton fabric has a 'gritty' feel and is actually noisy to move about on. Not a 'sateen' feel by any stretch of the imagination..more like Grade 180 sandpaper.
I will return to John Lewis and pay extra for what will be guaranteed quality.
What A Disappointment
Having invested in a deeper mattress, I needed to buy a 35cm fitted sheet in the "premium brushed cotton" range. Dorma has been my go-to brand for over 50 years.
Having washed the sheet immediately,as advised, I am so disappointed to find it stiff and scratchy, presumably because it is now made with 50% recycled cotton. The label stated "soft and cosy"!! This term makes the sheet "not fit for purpose" in my opinion and should really be returned and refunded. I shall have to use it as a mattress protector and also warn my friends against buying .
(Or maybe after the 10th wash or so a miracle might happen??!!)
Never ever again Dorma

Dorma Bedding
After many years of buying cheap and cheerful bedding I decided to treat myself and buy a nice new set of bedding with matching curtains. Unfortunately I did not review the dorma bedding before buying. It is utterly disappointing and 100% not worth the price. I have experienced the material fraying around the zip area along with the stitching coming apart on all the zips on duvet and pillow cases. On top of that the duvet has also bobbled more than any other duvet cover I have ever bought!

Security Issues And Refunds
I went to Dunelm Maidstone to look for 2 Dorma duvet cover sets. I was shocked that all the bedding is kept behind locked doors so it is very difficult to look at items and choose- you can’t see the fabric quality. I assume there has been a problem with shoplifting. The assistant made me feel uncomfortable- I’m a 70 year old retired headmistress so not a potential shoplifter. On selecting 2 sets I was not allowed to touch them— she took them to check out. When I got home and unpacked one set I could see it didn’t have the fabric look or quality I wanted- it was shiny. And because I opened the packet I can’t return it. A very expensive mistake £120 and I will NEVER buy Dorma again as there is no attempt at customer satisfaction at any stage. It was an awful experience and does not reflect the ‘luxury’ branding.
Dorma only exists in name as Dunelm bought the branding and as a result the quality has taken a nosedive. They are even using the Dorma name on room fragrances, candles and bric a brac.
I recently bought 2 fitted sheets with a 500tc expecting sheer comfort and a great handle. So disappointed. They are 'noisy' and feel like I am sleeping on coarse fabric. Returned the second one and will buy from John Lewis in future

Dorma Bedding Has Dropped It's Standard
I bought my second set of Dorma bedding (April 2023) having fallen in love with the quality and the feel. HOWEVER - beware. The standard has dropped to that of cheap, scratchy cotton. I didn't even think about it and when my bedding arrived I popped it in the washer and slept on it for the first time last night. It's no better than a cheap brand cotton, rough and scratchy compared to the previous bedding. I immediately got in touch with Dunelm who have told as I've washed it there's nothing they can do. No concern whatsoever about the drop in standard or the experience of people like me who trusted the brand. Look for another product
Dorma is owned by Dunelm and as such the standard has taken a nosedive

Faded
I bought a plain grey Dorma bed set ( and a spare set for when one is in the wash). They were purchased about 18 months ago. They have both really faded from grey to pink. It’s really noticeable as I also have large square pillows on the bed with the cases from the same range. These cases don’t get washed as frequently as the bedding. They are completely different colours now. The cases are still grey but the rest of the bedding has faded to a pale pinky shade. I’m so dissatisfied as I paid a lot of money for this thinking it was high quality when it really isn’t
Q&A
Why is it impossible to iron creases out of the Wild flower bedding and curtains? I know it's all cotton that is why I bought it. When I was younger every thing I wore was cotton, never had this trouble.
I have the Remington range in my bedroom and the zip is broken on my superking quilt cover. Would that be covered with the 10 year guarantee?
Is dorma bedding/duvet cover guaranteed against fading?
What is covered by the 10 year guarantee of fitted sheets?
I bought a pair of Oxford pillowcases Dorma DARCY but one of the zips on the pillowcases is impossible to open and close. I bought them from Dunelm. I am very disturbed to see the reviews which I came across whilst trying to find out what to do about it. Any suggestions?
How does the 10 year guarantee? My 2 year old 300 count sateen fitted sheet is in shreds. I expected a much longer life for £30. I do not have the receipt. Purchased from Dunelm Enfield. Went to replace it just now,They did not have the colour. I read these reviews and am thinking about changing my views on this once respected brand. What shall i do?
Is it just dorma at dunhelm that is inferior quality or is it dorma itself that have change the quality? There is no comparison with the old and the new rubbish they are selling
I cannot answer this as I have not bought Dorma anywhere else - however I do believe that Dunhelm has bought Dorma and hence I would expect them all to be the same quality now.
Interestingly I have found the (top quality) Dorma pillows at Denhelm to be very good quality - it only appears to be the lined that is (in mine, and others opinions) not very good and does not live up to that expected from the Dorma brand..
