14 Years Of Wear

I've had my Dobbies jods for 14 years and they are finally getting to the point where I have to order some new ones.. I live in these jods (I'm a groom)1 pair in the washing machine whilst I wear the other pair.. Much as I hate to face the truth.. I "NEED" to get some new ones!!!

I've Had 2 X Pairs Made Now And Am Just Ordering A

I've had 2 x pairs made now and am just ordering another pair... possibly 2 x pairs if I get carried away with myself. My neice has had 2 x pairs and can't speak highly enough...

I previously had a black pair from Dobbies Jods, made from a tough stretch thermal material with a wonderful matching black full SureGripTM seat. For winter riding or general yard duties, I have yet to find anything better to wear. They certainly give the appearance of being at least twice the £35 ish they cost me to have them made to measure!!! ("I know... £35 is nothing for a pair of Jods these days").

I had a beige pair too with a SureGripTM seat and as with the black ones they are comfy, well-made, long lasting and when washed, (after almost 3 years) still look like new - no colour fade, no staining and as I spend most of my time falling off, they wash well and all the grass and blood-stains come right out!

The material on both pairs has been dragged through bushes and hedges and there are no signs of snags or tears. The seat isn't threadbare which after twice a week wear I would have expected it to be. The seams are double-stitched and the zipper sturdy enough for the clumsiest of hands. A double fastner (don't know what else to call it) ensures you don't embarrass yourself by losing your Jods at the most inappropriate of moments! Show Judges are known for relaxing the occasional rule but riding without Jodhpurs will ensure you get placed last of all.

On the whole for a regular pair of jods I can't rate Dobbies Jods highly enough. I've worn £100 Pikeur jods and £150 Kentucky's and they are great too, but they don't last as long or look so well after 2yrs wear. (I hope I've not shot myself in the foot and now their prices go up!).

I'd really recommend them to anyone. Their price list says "all sizes catered for" from 3/4 yr olds to Adult - from skinny people to 'big boned' individuals and probably beyond... so go on, treat yourself... what are you waiting for?

Thank you for recommending Dobbies to me. With a 36" leg finding a pair of women's jodhpurs that are long enough has proved impossible. I have now contacted them directly and look forward to a receiving my first pair.
