Mark Todd Men's Hamilton Breeches

I've worn about 30 different types of breeches and jodhpurs over the years and I am increasingly bothered by the 'silly' prices that some manufacturers add to their products. I have yet to wear a pair of jodhpurs or breeches that are worth £100 or more.

The Mark Todd breeches came as a bit of a revelation, I was shopping for a more expensive pair and stumbled across these at £45.00. Tried them on and was amazed at how comfortable they were and how well they looked.

They are made of four way stretch fabric with a mixture of Micro-Fibre and Spandex content which makes them hug but not too tightly and stretch where they need to stretch.

The Hamilton Breeches are designed in a flat fronted men's breech style with no inner thigh seam making it more comfortable on your inner-thighs if you are spending long periods in the saddle.

The ultra-grip knee patches have an embossed logo which gives them the look of a far more expensive pair. The amount of grip from the knee patches is negligible and if you are riding properley this shouldn't be too much of a consideration anyway. It's better to see the knee patches as 'a bit of padding' between you and the saddle, than rely on it to grip the horse.

The Breeches are made with a 4cm waistband and double belt loops...which is nice! What can you say about belt loops - they fit a belt and stop the breeches from falling down around your ankles.

There are two generous sized back pockets with button closure and a front fastener with Mark Todd embossed button, ideal for keeping your gloves in but not really much more.

The Hamilton Breeches come in a range of colours (although I only bought the Khaki ones) but I'm told you can buy them in Beige, White, Navy & Khaki.

I've had mine for around 6 months and they get worn on average 3 times per week in the saddle and I've mucked out and cleaned up wearing them. The only criticism I have is that the stitching on the right pocket has come loose. This may not be down to manufacture - it may be down to it being the only pocket I use and I'm forever putting my cell-phone, car keys and money in it. A few minutes with a needle and thread should repair this problem but I'm simply too lazy.

I can recommend the Mark Todd Hamilton breeches and for the price I doubt you'll find much better.
