Highly Valued Consistent, Competent Support.

Highly valued consistent, and very competent support.

Superb support, great website design aids, good relationship with BT Openreach to resolve any odd connection problems.

On the few occasions I have needed it their support has been speedy and expert. Their web hosting and domain purchase services are well designed and easy to use. Fully recommended.

In my use of Freeola as my ISP and host to my websites over the last 5 years I have enjoyed a fantastic service on the few occasions I have needed help.

Very Difficult Service To Use

Making any adjustment to account is very difficult. Cannot email them have to always call. Emails go missing, and someone logged into my account 1 month ago and it was not me.

Lousy After Sales Service

After 13 years of Freeola Broadband, I recently needed help to reset my router. I haven't needed a lot of help over the years, which is just as well as when I did need their help, they were reluctant, sullen, monosyllabic, and rude. I spoke to two of them. When one of these dreary "tech heads" asked me a question about my router - which neither had heard of by the way - A Netgear DGN2000 - I started to explain a situation and was interrupted mid sentence with the abrupt phrase, "...just yes or no!". In common with many PC users, the name Apple seemed to galvanise him into a state of stupor, though my Mac had little bearing on my issue, a virus which came in via the router. It took a while but having informed him I'd spent 13 years paying £24 a month for broadband, and this was the first time I'd needed real help resetting my router, he eventually me told what I needed to know, though he said I'd probably broken it by pressing the reset buttons. So if you want good after sales service, I do not recommend them! As a matter of interest: Apple spent 3 hours a day for 5 days with me on the phone and on line getting to the bottom of the problem. They were polite, encouraging and never once told me I was taking up their time. When I apologised for the time it was taking I was told, "... don't worry we'll stay with you until we get to the bottom of this issue. We'd like to know what it is too!"

Freeola/getdotted Domain Hosting Service

I am not a Freeola broadband customer, just using them to host my domain name - which I set up a while ago, intending to use for email purposes only. I have now been advised form my current email host that they are increasing my charges by over 300% and this has encouraged me to finally make the effort to switch. Unfortunately, I discovered that the new domain's email addresses weren't working. I submitted a query to Freeola's customer service department. I received a prompt reply and Freeola sorted the problem within a couple of hours. (The fault was mine - not theirs!) Great service, Freeola!

The Disaster That Is Freeola

I signed up with Freeola (an entanet reseller) after previously being with ukfsn, with ukfsn I had a faultless service throughout, the only reason for leaving was the fact that we moved house and that ukfsn seemed to be difficulties. Now, Freeola, I signed up April 2015, at this point we were still in the process of moving, so the service wasn't used much, however I ran a quick speedtest and was pleased that we were connected at 17500kbps, however it was the following month the problems started to show, by this time we had started to actually use the connection properly and were greeted by constant disconnects, informed Freeola about the situation and was told to check all our equipment etc to make sure the fault wasn't at our end. Over the next week or two the connection had become almost unusable sinking well under 1mbps, at this point the phone line was becoming noisy as well which would point to a fault in the line, so contacted again to report the issue, again we were told to check at our end, which we did, finally Freeola raised a ticket with BT and organised a visit by an engineer. After one cancelled visit and one non show, the engineer turned up on the third attempt, plugged their device into the master socket and the fault was traced to a rotten connection in the street cabinet. At this point I was relieved and when we connected back up over the next couple of days the connection climbed to about 14 to 15mbps, which although slightly slower I was happy with. Thinking problem over, we started to use the connection again, and while not so frequent the connection would drop when using the connection to capacity. So contacted Freeola, again they told us to check at our end, which we did, then they informed us they could make some tweaks to make the connection more stable, next day or two, the speed again started to drop and drop, so I had to contact Freeola again to explain, anyway they said they would make another tweak and that seemed to garner a reliable 10mbps connection for most of the year. At this point I was reasonably happy with the service and happy with the customer care. Problems presented themselves in November when after most of the year having a solid 10Mbps connection, it dropped to 6.5Mbps, not a complete disaster but one that warranted contacting Freeola, this is when I found out the reality of the company I was dealing with, they simply fobbed me off with an explanation that was pointing to our equipment (which hadn't changed), at this point I left it to see if the connection would recover and in December it did, actually syncing at 11Mbps, this was sort lived but the connection settled again at 10Mbps and again I was reasonably content with the service, however right at the end of December to early January the connection has been in free fall, going back down to 6.5Mbps, then 4 then 2, then 1 and then it continued 500kbps and then down to 200kbps, at this point I wasn't a happy bunny, I had contacted them will the connection was dropping, informing them of the ever decreasing speed and again was informed in no uncertain terms that they had done their part and was nothing more they could do, and informed me to take things up with BT. It has been a nightmare service really from day dot, the connection has obviously got other underlying issues but Freeola are unwilling (or more likely), unable to help, I think they have reached the limit of any technical expertise they may claim to have. So in a nutshell, a company that is happy to take your money but is largely unwilling to help regarding the actual connection, the service you pay them for. Technical expertise and customer services have to rate at horrendous. Seriously, if you are looking for an ADSL provider, please, if you value your sanity above all else, look elsewhere.

Not a very helpful review, methinks you have a personal grudge against the very folks who in my dealings with them have been nothing short of superb. Get a life and move on sunshine!

In A Word, Dishonest

I used freeola for paid e-mail for my domain. Foolishly I transferred my domain there from LCN, who it has to be said are much better. Eventually the e-mail service started to cause problems with sending mail so I decided to move on. At this point I find it's £12 to have my domain that I paid for freed up so I could move it. A £12 'admin fee' for an automated process is DAYLIGHT ROBBERY. What really makes me fizz is that nowhere in the sign up phase is there any clear warning that transferring in your domain for free incurs a unjustifiable 'admin fee' when you want to move on. Quite frankly I consider this sort of behaviour to be dishonest, underhand, devious and slimy. Freeola and get dotted who are the same business deserve to go out of business with practices like this. Needless to say I will not deal with them again and I will make sure anybody I do web development for stays away from them as well.

If you spoke about me in such a manner you would find yourself facing a slander charge. It says a lot about Freeloa that they have not responded to such bad mouthed drivel.

The Greatest Isp Ever!

One thing which I'm sure most people find extremely lacking in this day in age is good customer services - let's be honest, find adequate customer service is a challenge, but not with Freeola!

Whenever I've had a problem their customer support team have worked hard to resolve my issue ASAP and are always polite and helpful - if your fed up with the cowboys which seem to have taken over the ISP industry, then Freeola is the company for you!

Excellent! 5 Stars Everytime!

Duke, you are unfair! It's the one's who give poor reviews who are full of hyperbole and hate. One only has to check other review websites, whilst this one seems to attract the nutters!

Duke_Nukem

In the light of all the other comments here, this one stands out as probably a plant.

My advice to anyone planting a fake review is to use less hyperbole and sound less like an advert generally. Also avoid giving the full 5 stars. Hope this helps.

Going Off Their "free" Email Accounts

I've no experience with their ISP services, but if their "free email accounts" are a reflection - I WOULD NEVER EVER TOUCH THEM EVEN WITH A 20 FT POLE VAULT STICK.

Their emails will NOT receive ANYTHING except messages from Freeola themselves, which are all adverts. The site is morass of HUNDREDS of "click this to buy this option!!!!!" buttons, it is almost impossible to navigate through the "free bits".

AVOID AVOID AVOID - these people are just grifters!

Utterly Reliable And Professional

I've used freeola for my business broadband, domains, web hosting and also home broadband for well over ten years and their customer service (phone or email) is second to none even out of hours and weekends. the servers are highly reliable with as close to 100% uptime as you can find, and when you talk to sales, customer service or tech help you get a real person in the UK who you actually feel is being paid to help you. This company goes above and beyond what you can reasonably expect from an ISP/Service Provider these days and I have no qualms at all running my ecommerce sites in freeola web space.

Web Design

Web Design was Excellent! It was a little slow to get started due to the heavy work load that was on the team, but once started it all came together very quickly.

My project Managers work is 1st Class.

The rates and fees are fair compared to competition that I checked out.

I would recommend this company and services to any one thinking about web design etc. I had no idea how I wanted it to look as such but with the limited information I gave him was able to use his imagination and come up with the goods.

the best thing about this project was how quickly it all came together and I was able to make lots of small changes to a few things with out feeling awkward.

I have been with them now for some 20 years so they must be doing something right! Well done team.

If I get a new domain, is there a limit to the number of e-mail users? Can e-mail users, can they independently access/send/receive e-mails? Do you have e-mail forwarding?
